True freedom can only come from within. No drug, religion, political view or yoga position can give you freedom. For real freedom you must let go of all of the poison thoughts you've been brainwashed with your whole life. This is scary for most people so they will never be free, regardless of the country they live in. Very sad.

I'm a lot closer than most people I know. I claim no religion, I'm an independent voter (although I am usually forced to vote Democratic because of the lack of better alternatives), I'm not against gay marriage or any other thing that prevents freedom. The only thing I am against are actions that harm other people. I am even in favor of allowing the idiots who made that anti-Muslim video to make and distribute that junk. We cannot limit freedom, either we're all free or none of us are.

My political values are closer to Ron Paul than Obama, I guess you haven't been paying attention. Remember, Paul is the ONLY candidate I've voted for so far. Give me liberty or give me death!

To me freedom would be a situation where you dont owe anyone else anything, be it money or whatever.

but you owe your country, paid by your loyalty. Else yer a terrist.

Freedom is a lie. Even cavemen were prisoner to the world that surrounded them. We are all prisoner to something, even the skin on our bones. You aren't free to live eternally in this body.

There's no true freedom, just free-will, which no matter who you are or where you live, you always have that. Just in some places, you will die painfully for expressing it
