Sans, I think you liked the raw draft of this one...about a year ago Its getting closer to full production now :D

A friend of mine had turned 50 and for his birthday . I laid this on him at his party (A crude version of it..).
Currently waiting on a friend of mine to respond to my request for her contribution of Piano...track...

On My Profile...Lyrics posted as well

Thanks Jeff! The Drummer is real, but the Kit is not a real set of drums... Long story short, The Kit he has right now doesn't have much range. So he's using pads, but he is doing the beats manually, through and through. (No programming allowed) I do agree that the track needs to be cleaned up a little. Re Guitar: Kudos to your Ear You nailed it spot on...My intention is to lay down a supporting guitar track which will have some overdrive (or at least high gain) ... to round out that opening lick (and fill in some subsequent gaps)

:)

Wow that really sounds like sequenced drums!

He did follow a click track... But toward the end he might have tripped it up a bit. I would have preferred the full set, but I gotta work with what I got :D

Soon as SONY picks me up , that prob will be solved!

I wasn't being accusational Grant! It does seem that way after reading my last post Sorry
I am a little old fashioned but I am hearing just a good ole acoustic drum kit with it. I completely understand the problem of working with what you have. That very problem frustrates me when recording by myself!

Its all Good, Jeff... :) I totally understand, and I don't feel at all like it was accusatory . You are a professional, and calling it like you see it...I totally respect that and appreciate it.

In My case, I'm such a greenhorn, that my very existence in music is often a crapshoot... I dont know what the hell I am doing half the time... I'm lucky I can pull anything off.

George Arriola and I both realize that a full kit is a better option. Someday, that option will avail itself... (If I live long enough LOL!)

BTW I'm about to invest in a PA system, Primary to get my acoustic set going. Nothing huge but I need something for my contest as well .

I was told to stay away from Peavy and look at Mackies?

Tell me your thoughts... :)

Yes I like the preamps in Mackie better than Peavy or Yamaha. The Pre's, routing options, and sends are the main things I look at when buying a mixer. Allen & Heath have slightly better preamps than Mackie. The best thing going for club level low cost sound reinforcement in my opinion is Carvin. Their mixers have come a long way and are the best out there for budget minded musicians. My advise would be to look at Carvin, stay away from powered mixers because they will limit you down the road, best to get powered speakers try to keep the same ohm in speakers if you going to tri-amp or bi-amp. If you go the mixer-poweramp-speaker route look at Berringer power amps they are usually a little cheaper and always remember to power your speakers properly best to go with at least 2 x program power. If using higher powered amps always match the guage of speaker cable to the power. subs=min. 12 guage. Tops or lower powered speakers such as full range and bi-amped tops=min. 14 guage.

Nice tune Dog! I may have to lay down a lead track along side it just to see what comes. :D

A basic acoustic PA suggestion:
Compact and super clean:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audi ... c=3WWRWXGP
Or bigger and louder:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audi ... aker-black

Mixer:
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audi ... pact-mixer

This should cover everything you will need and at 121db/127db should be plenty loud enough for any acoustic show. The JBLs will also fit in your MX5 :D New it will run you about $1600 but can be found used for 1/2 price. I have been using a similar sys. for 5 yrs doing acoustic shows. Very clean, natural sound and butt simple to set up and operate.
