I don't particularly like dogs, well... I do like dogs, but I don't like the expense and taking care of them, did that for many years and prefer to be dog-less for the remainder of my life. I especially don't like other peoples dogs, but that's more of an owner issue- not the dogs fault that it was trained to be an a-hole, by an a-hole.

I will however concede that when the Eagles signed on mike vick, I pronounced the team as "dead to me" and have not since been a fan, and never will be. The team was supposed to portray the decency and ethics of the common man, not some rich a-hole who can't find anything better to do than breed violence.

Had dogs around the whole time growing up.
Had my fill of them... too much upkeep.

And no, I don't like your dog. Most people can't even raise a dog right, let alone kids...

Not for me anymore.

Only had one dog, she was a smart mix of Lab and Doberman. But I'm much too busy to even think about having a pet.

...Haley...yes we are "dog lovers" and animal lovers as well. Gandhi said that one can judge clearly the state of a country by the way it treats it's animals..

We have one female Neopolitan Mastiff who is getting old but acts as the heavy cavalry. She is an excellent guard dog and has put several would be thieves down quickly and efficiently. We also have a male mexican mongrol male who came up to me on the street one night and refused to leave my side. He was in bad shape and around 3 months with only a few hairs ... looked really like a little monster. Now he looks great and is learning from the Heavy Cavalry and acts as the Light Cavalry. In addition we have two female mongrels... one was left as a very small pup on the road in front of our house one morning. She was still nursing so we had to hand feed her but now she is the LookOut and is very effective in calling in the Cavalry when needed. The most recent one is a very tiny one who was living in the rocks on scraps and so I began to feed her and now she is part of the Household.

Dogs are wonderful, loyal and useful if one knows how to raise them. It is time consuming but is even more rewarding. They are excellent judges of character and can teach one many valuable and meaningful lessons. We have found that we do not like people who do not like animals ... there is a message there. We have two cats, fish, japanese quail, chickens, rabbits and even a guinea pig. It is important to have pets when growing up as they teach responsibility, work ethic, discipline, empathy, respect for life and compassion.....and patience.

Precious, those puppies are adorable! It must cost a lot to keep them groomed, or do you do it yourself?

Jeff, it's way to expensive so we have our own doggie clippers.

Hitler and the Nazis were big into animal rights so would have to differ with your opinion about judging a country according to how it treats it's animals.. Hitler outlawed the Jewish Ritual of butchering an animal , by bleeding it to death, and many of animals rights laws today were started by the Nazis.. they loved their animals more than people if you were not an Aryan..

There is a town, and I missed the name,,, They want to ban dog ownership.

What next? I don't have a dog, but even the meanest junkyard dog I have ever met can be friendly.

I just don't roll over and play dead when some government official, elected by their employers decides you cant have drinks over 16 oz , or salt on your french fries or you cant smoke in open spaces, or now...

YOU CAN'T HAVE A DOG.

BEAVER FALLS, Pa., Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Officials in a Pennsylvania town said they are considering a proposal to ban dogs from the municipality's business district.

The Beaver Falls officials said they have heard numerous complaints from residents about dogs being tied to parking meters in the business district and owners failing to clean up after their pets, KDKA-TV, Pittsburgh, reported Wednesday.

"When I walk, I try to walk daily, I tell you I get disgusted because people aren't cleaning up after their dogs, after animals," said John Kirkland, a Beaver Falls councilman. "They got to clean up."

The council said the proposal is in the early stages of research and no action is likely to be taken until later in the year.

I wish I could love people as much as I love dogs. I have known people to mistreat their dogs, and the dogs still greet them like they are the greatest thing on earth when they come home.
