Please say a prayer for your fellow countryman suffering in Louisiana! Good folks are going thru HELL down there!

the ones that stayed and are now getting bailed out pretty much said they did not want to be "homeless" no other place to hide away, they did not want to get a taste of what the true homeless go through every day, week after week, nmonth after month BLAH BLAH BLAH...

no pun intended with the "bailed out" remark, meant that figuratively not literally, but 'tis true..

I have kin near Tampa so I always feel guilty when I feel releaved that the hurricane has passed them by - there is always somebody else in it's sights.

Re Homeless - I worked in a homeless ministry for five plus years and must say, in 95 per cent of the folks I met it was a self inflicted wound. Substance abuse and / or mental illness were the cause in almost every case.

That is no reason not to feel compassion for them - however, it suggests it is kind of silly to idealize them.

why should we say a prayer for them? they knew the storm was coming days in advance, this is the 20th century with technologically advanced Doppler radar to let everybody know... the "victims" I saw on the Evening News admitted they had nowhere to go, and said they did not want to be homeless.. probably poorer folks unable to get a motel room up north could not afford it, no sin in that.. but I do not see you sending any dollars over on Western Union helping out HALEY, tht is what would help more than a prayer, a GOOD DEED would work better..
