Simple Pleasures

like most folks i have many.

this morning i had to take a drive to fulton mo to help my bro-in-in law do some work remodeling a restaurant he just bought. this has been a life long dream of his and it's wonderful that he's getting to realize this.

anyway, it's about a 30 mile ride and the weather was nice so i decided to make the drive in style and made the trip (all nice windy two lane rds) in my '71 jaguar xke.

dint get to use it during our long bout of 100 degree weather (no ac in the jag and that big v12 do get hot) and then when the weather finally broke it went into the shop to replace a cracked manifold.

so, i got it back the other day....i was grinning like an idiot driving it home. and the grin is STILL on my face from this morning's motoring.

anyone else have a simple pleasure they care to share?

I love hanging out with my pirate friends and camping out with them. This weekend we're celebrating one of our friend's birthdays in the canyons. There will be a bunch of musicians and we're out in the middle of nowhere so we'll jam all night, and some Greatful Dead chick is coming to make purple pancakes the next morning. I just like getting out into nature and sitting around a fire. There's something about the smell of wood and a campfire that really gets me going.

Nothing Quite as exhilarating as tearing down a Highway at 110 mph with the top down...Last May I did that...My smile was fixed on my face that way for a week (revealing all the bugs I collected.... ) :D 8)

Do you have a bitchin mullet? :P Thats what I'll be doing in about 45 minutes! My co-worker told me I am probably the only guy left in the COUNTRY with a mullet. I am on a one man crusade to bring this WONDERFUL hairstyle back! Anyone with me?

sorry no mullet. does it count that i did have one for a long time?

i used to work at Missouri School for the Deaf and one year in an effort to encourage the kids to read more books i installed a contest. the kid that read the most books by the end of the yr would get to cut it all off!

it was a most effective incentive and a good time was had by all. never grew it back after that!

personally I'd take a pass on the mullet :P

My simple pleasures these days are my recent social awakening (aka mid-life crisis 8) )

I'm pretty much embracing it by living life to it's fullest lately, mostly a lot of partying, meeting up with old friends, doing hikes, biking, embracing new things (plan to go skydiving and hang gliding soon!), etc.. doing 'date nite' with the wife.. etc.

Just got tired of the 9-5 grind.. go home eat, sleep, etc. I'm definitely happier now than I've been in years. Still piss-poor and living check to check, but I just accepted my place in life and don't stress over it like I used to.

I've always said that about my big 80s hair. So now, all my daughter's friends are going "hey lady, your hair is so freakin' awesome!" Heck yeah! I think if mohawks and fauxhawks can be around, why not mullets! :D

Hey Haley, I notice your signature is The Most Interesting Man In The World's tag line. Does that mean you drink Dos Equis? I always took you for a Bud man. BTW I love Dos Equis lager, the amber is good too.

His small talk has been known to change Foreign Policy!
He once rode a bull until it fell asleep!
He bowls OVERHANDED!
His mother has a tatoo that say's "son"

I had to quit drinking Bud when I found out I am diabetic. I now drink Low Carb beer that taste like horse piss! About once a month I treat myself to GOOD BEER! I really like Spaten, Dos Equis, Fat Tire, La Canita!
