everyday, like clockwork, I am getting 3 to 5 yahoo instant messengers when before I posted my yahoo email on the free BandMix page I was lucky to get 1 a week, I have declined every request to chat and blocked all, but now wondering how many of these IMs are from people wanting to contact me for guitar session work LOL or maybe talk about throwing a band together.. there has been a couple members here that have contacted me too but they used email instead of instant messaging..in my heart of hearts I believe these people and/or bots to be malicious and they found my yahoo email address at my BM page and are trying to solicit me for viagara and stuff LOL....

So whats your point?

my point is, should I continue on blocking all these requests from total strangers wanting to be at a minimum a yahoo chat buddy or start accepting them as legitimate contacts? to see what they want.. or maybe I should erase my contact info and become a premium member to enable me to use the chat service on BM exclusively?..

So do you have anything to offer the universe and "legitmate contacts" Musically? If not my advise would be "if it sounds to good to be true it probably is"

Dane, I don't communicate via IM. If I don't recognize the name, I block them and even if I do, I still block them. They are spam. If someone truly wanted to get with you regarding music, they would write an intelligible and professional e-mail. If I were you, I would continue to block them.

No, you don't replace what my bass player did. That momentum died with him. I'm going in a different direction now and recording alone. It's been too hard getting a band together and keeping everyone together. I thought our drummer was our weak link had been looking to replace him and who I thought was my strongest link winds up getting killed. The Universe has never made it easy for me to do my art. I've had to fight tooth and nail for everything, so now, I'm just saying f**k it and am doing everything myself. As far as performing, I'm still working on that aspect, but I'm going in a more Steampunk direction or maybe it's just a Chaeya direction.

I understand, losing a key player, that was more than just a player, and without him a key element is lost .. I just thought I'd throw it out there one last time..

I block all I'M and lately I've been getting text commercials on my phone which I respond to in the foulest language possible, those text commercials have pretty much stopped. Sometimes a few choice expletives can get the job done.
