The new classic rock band Mike and I are putting together met and jammed last night for the first time. We ran through "My Woman From Tokyo", "Give A Little Bit", "Godzilla", "Born To Run" and few others. I'm very excited to be playing these great songs with this caliber of musicians.
Johnny from Mango Pie is on vocals and my old friend Paul is on bass. Paul and I were bandmates in 1984 and then again in 2006. He's a great player who studies the song and does his parts precisely. Johnny's old band Mango Pie was one of the better and longer-lasting cover bands in the Detroit area. He's got a strong voice (he did the vocals on my songs "Neon Black" and "Iraq and a Hard Place").
This band will allow Mike and I to play music and venues that we can't with The Farleys. Things are about to get very busy.
