Television Doesn't Affect Meh Anymore

I was sitting around talking with a few people and someone asked me if I had ever sat and played my instrument du jour along with the television.

I turned to him smiling and replied "of course, haven't you"?

It turns out it was 50/50 those that had vs those that hadn't.

I think of the ones in question the musicians that did were better able to play impromptu or off the cuff.

My personal favorite would be war footage or stormy sea type material(s).

My one buddy cracked me up. He says he likes to jam to the "Yule Log".
The more/harder it burns, the harder he plays.

lol Stephanie Abrams doing the weather in her skimpy, tight white dress isn't bad to play to either....

Wow, looks like few people do this..

Cripes this gave me a serious edge when playing bass especially.
It's great for segues as well.

You just rip into a little slice of Adams Family and you can segue into your next tune. Best part is people all think it's part of the show.

I use to play along with the Andy Griffith show and The Jefferson's "Movin on up" The theme from Mash. 8)
I play when I'm watching sports as well since i don't care what's being said.
