Worthless scum...

The BEST thing I can say about Romney AND Obama is that I'd rather vote for a 180lb bag of diarrhea for President than either one of those two worthless pieces of scum. The political dirt is already flying. We don't need dirt flying when we have extremely serious problems facing the country. That 180lb bag of diarrhea looks pretty inviting to me right about now....

Yep.

And they are accurate representatives of the parties they represent.

God help us...

Romney has participated in 22 political elections and lost 17 of them, and he's now the flag-bearer of the Republican party. We already know Obama's stellar political career. And these two are the best choices among 330 MILLION Americans? These two are the best this country has to offer? It's mind-boggling. I'm at a loss for words.

There HAS to be somebody, somewhere, sometime, with a personality so magnetic, and a political acumen so sharp, representing a new political party, to take this country by storm and send BOTH useless Dems and Repubs into the dustbin of history ONCE and for all...we can only pray...that this person is NEITHER conservative or liberal, but represents a party so pragmatic that EVERYBODY gets it, that EVERYBODY sees the wisdom of a completely new way of running a truly equitable system that completely satisfies those helpless in need, and those entreprenurial people who can help themselves. We need a CLEAN SLATE, a fresh start, a completely new approach that gets rid of ALL bueaucratic red tape, that puts 100% of our dollars to work delivering goods and services unfettered by greedy hands grabbing ANYTHING that belongs to the taxpayers, a health system that incorporates the best of free market and help for those unable to help themselves, ...I could go on but what's the use. Our testicles are in a vise and those controlling the vise aren't letting go....

Wasn't it one of the founders who said something to this effect: Anyone who desires to be in politics already has had his soul corrupted.

I'm not sure that's the case, but most world leaders, those that desire absolute power, by definition, are psychopathic. Just being in politics doesn't mean one's soul is corrupted. Many people go into politics with good intentions. Some get corrupted, but there are a few who remain true to the calling. The problem isn't corruption or psychopaths, there will always be a little of both in any system. The key is to build a system that limits the damage of corruption and psychopaths. The key is to find a practical solution to this mess, once and for all. It's going to take somebody BRAVE, somebody with VISION, unfettered by greedy hangers-on...

Bob, I think the persistent refusal of truly intelligent people, to ever 'want' the oval office job is the prevailing reason we have losers in office.
I said it before and I'll say it again...some of the guys we see in office today are likely to be the little nerds that everyone picked on in school... This is how they are exacting their revenge...
No escaping it... To be president, you have to be a detail -minded guy, who actually gives a sh*t about the minutia of politics... I'd say the Oval Office holds the ultimate chair for Global quarterbacking...

in my church there is a leader ship position called "elder." (Lutheran sense of the term)

To qualify, one very important quality is that you NOT want the job. It is a service, not a career move or ego boost. You take the job after considering it prayerfully and determining that it is your duty. Any thing else disqualifies you.

Good men have to see 'the sausage being made.' Men who can't handle it need to be spared having to do it lest it harm them spiritually.

This is very similar to politicians and their twin temptations: power and money. Women and various other vices come with the first two.

Men like Romney live for power, Obama was groomed for a specific role... These people are not serving reluctantly, keenly aware of their own limitations. They just like lording it over other folks. They are the last men you want in power.

I saw someone selling a few grams of scum from the shower stall in Elvis' Las Vegas Hilton suite 3000, circa 1974, with an Elvis' DNA authentication certificate, for $7000 on ebay. :D

Bidding on that overrated scum? I was doing research to estimate the value of my certified and autographed collection of 8 Elvis shower scum samples from '72 - '76.

If Elvis isn't your thing ... I also have a source for some authenticated toe lint from Jim Morrison's Florida hotel circa. 1970

The Who said it: Meet the new boss, same as the old boss ....

I remember a sci-fi story where any person who WANTED to be a politician and hold office was not allowed to. Only those who had no desire to govern were appointed to do so.
