I remember when I first got my 72 Tele, barely knew how to play it, and a friend plugged it into his Fender Deluxe Reverb, tweeked the controls for a minute then matched Becker's tones exactly from their first album.
I was worried that I had bought a 'country music' guitar until that point!

I never understood how the Grand Trunk Railroad was able to force them to change the name of the band to Grand Funk. Buicks and Grand Funk were the only good things to ever come from Flint.

Jimmy, they changed the name to Grand Funk in 1971 after they fired their manager. Rumor was that it had to do with the court battle with the ex manager but Farner later said they just shortened it because that's what the fans called them anyway. They changed it back to Grand Funk Railroad in 1975.
