Don't get any of this wrong, But I am amazed that some people out there would actually attack someone for a PDA. (public display of affection)

This is exactly what I strenuously object too. LACK OF TOLERANCE.

I happen to like our first lady very much. I don't have any problem with her promoting healthy eating and exercise among our youth. Obesity IS a giant health problem in this country and I feel it's long overdue we rectifythe problem. Of course now that we have this epic drought people may not get enough to eat and lose some weight...

Reagan didn't regulate our choice... Hers was a campaign of persuasion, an attempt to persuade a target audience (of American kids) to adopt an ideology). There was no penalty or denial of resources if kids failed to adopt the ideology. (Drugs were already illegal. ) So hers was not a legislative imposition on the american people. Same thing with Bush. She compelled (not coerced) Americans to consider methods for supporting children's education and womens health.

Michelle's intentions were not whacky, but her method is unacceptable. She wants to pass laws that say you aren't allowed to choose a grease burger from a menu. She wants to down size your biggie lunches, through law enforcement.

This rather large woman walks into a diner squeezes herself into a booth and says to the waitress "do you have a diet special"
The waitress repies "why yes ma'am we do".
Quickly the vertically challenged woman replies

Nothing the first lady does represents anything legally mandatory. She is leading by example. To complain about her efforts to help guide children to more healthy eating and exercise habits is ridiculous. Would you rather have a fat, out-of-shape first lady who does nothing but sit on her ass eating Twinkies as an example and inspiration to Americans? You say wisdom comes from God. Do you think He wants us to do nothing but sit on our collective asses eating garbage all day complaining about everything?

Yes I would. I would much rather have some fat first lady eating twinkies than one that is telling me what I should eat. I can't believe that you think the government should be so intrusive in your life. One of these days they will be taking total control of your life. She is a busy body. Telling people what to eat is the responsibility of the parents. More and more you appear to want to government to take over your responsibilities. God gave children to their parents to care for them, not some bureaucrat. You can roll over and let the government rule your life, but they are not going to tell me how much I can eat, what I can eat, how big my soft drink can be, if I can have salt or sugar at a restaurant, or how big a meal I can purchase with my money. I'm not a drone. I am a citizen born with the freedom that God gave to me to make my own choices in life. God gives freedom to all men, politicians take that from them a liberty at a time until they have lost that god given right. The drones that don't care when they meddle in their lives help them steal the freedom of all free men. It is not a politicians business what I eat or what anyone else eats. I just can't believe how blind some of you are to the tyranny that is taking place in America. You don't deserve your freedom, you deserve what you want, meddling government.

It is like saying the government knows best what color I should paint the rooms in my house. (Years ago an inspector tried to tell me what color I had to paint my bedroom) The government knows best what I can do with my property. The government can throw me out of my house and build anything they want to on my property because they know best. The government can give my property to illegal aliens because they were here before your ancestors were here. (That is the view of the UN, by the way, and Some in America want to adopt that practice.)

So just where do you drones draw the line? I am sure that siding with the government to take away the freedom of a citizens choice of what they can eat or what they cant eat is only the beginning of your helping them gain control over every aspect of the lives of free men. You appear to approve of the nanny state. That's all well and good, but in doing that you take away my freedom also, and that is not good.

Government ISN'T taking anybody's freedom of choice away when it comes to food. You are seriously over-reacting. This country has an obesity epidemic and a junk food addiction. ONE IN THREE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO GET DIABETES IN THEIR LIFETIME. Okay so let's not do anything about it. Let's sit on our fat asses, eat Twinkies and popcorn, watch TV or visit Facebook all day and become larval forms of homonids. What do YOU suggest we do about this health epidemic? If somebody in government doesn't set a good example then who do we look up to? I applaud the first lady. Bravo! I remember in grade school participating in the Presidential fitness awards. Do they even have the Presidential fitness awards? Are kids required to take gym any more? Are they required to participate in track events? Are would that be too "hard" on the overweight pansies?

Other than having healthier school lunches I don't know of any other legislation. Can you name specific legislation?

Now if kids are getting gov. paid school lunches, then I don't have an issue with making them healthier. If you want junk food, that's each person's option on their own dime on your own time.

If she was pushing legislation on "unhealthy" food that has nothing to do with gov. aid (like SNAP or school lunch program) or in public schools then I'm with you.

So far, I don't know of anything she's doing beyond public schools stuff and child obesity. And the vast majority of it is talking to people, not legislative.

Nobody as far as I can tell is doing or saying anything about you can't eat what you want.
