Any good solid ideas on how to advertize my forum?
Posted: Thu Jul 12, 2012 1:25 amI have a place to create a forum (Forumotion) and a general idea, but I don't have a place to advertize my forum. My audience is guys in their 20s who enjoy good pop and soft rock music and who play keyboard and guitar, and are simply looking for friends.
Please, note that through this forum, behaviors like I've seen on here and Baton Rouge Rocks are NOT going to be tolerated, so I'll need to also have some help moderating the board to keep out spammers, scammers, trolls, and internet bullies.
The things I want to do on the forum include learning about venues within Baton Rouge, sharing audio and videos of each other's covers, and talking about favorite songs, and how they've influenced you, as well as video games, and maybe even discussing some other college subjects like science related stuff.
Please, understand that I don't want the forum to be easily found through Google or Yahoo. I want people to find it through the exclusive site(s) where I'm advertising it and through word of mouth and more private sharing.
The forum is going to be free. Since the purpose of the forum is for me to find some friends to hang out with and play some music with, the forum is not going to have a Classifieds section.
A few young seasoned musicians are permitted on the forum, but only so I can network with them and the other amateurs and intermediate musicians through other sites like Facebook.
