Help with advertising my forum...

I'm trying to take someone's advice here: someone on here suggested I create a forum. Well, I've basically got that covered, but I need help finding a good place to advertize it. A place where I can select who can see the ad, and where it can't simply be found through major search engines, but on a site similar to Craigslist, but with just a music section but with subdivisions. In my case, a place where hobbying musicians can post their requests to jam, and other casual non-profit music services. And of course, on a site where pop and soft rock music is much more popular.

Take note, unlike how this site and Baton Rouge Rocks is easily found by using major search engines like Google or Yahoo. I don't want it to be found so easily.

thanks

Keep it just like it is, then no one will find it.

Please, don't be rude, sir. I don't have it created yet, because I don't have an effective way to advertize it. The board I'm creating is not going to be for everybody. It's for guys in their 20s and early 30s who are amateur and intermediate level keyboard players (along with a few guitar players and singers who love pop and soft rock, such as the artists I've listed on my profile.

The goal of the forum is to directly and indirectly find some buddies who would like to come over to my house to just hang out and among other activities work on some pop and soft rock songs together. I want to avoid reaching the all too common gigging/touring/working professional musicians.

My plan with this forum I'm creating is to maybe connect with a few 20-something music teachers, and collegen students who happen to play music on the side, but are not committed to any bands.

That type of behaivor is the VERY thing I want to avoid on my forum, and that is ONE of the reasons I deleted so many individuals the last time I tried it.

ALL I needed during that time was some different places to more effectively reach my target audience instead of places that attract hard rock, heavy metal, and classic rock music lovers which is ALL too common on Craigslist and Baton Rouge Rocks.

Topics on the forum would include other things besides music and would include video game discussion, and of course, some general science discussions like basic physics, chemistry, and biology topics.

Tahahahah! ... Clifford, I mean this from the bottom of my heart... You are much smarter than the dweeb, whom you just responded to...

I am laughing because he is so narcissitic, that even after a litany of posts , which crashed and burned as we all tried to help you, he apparently believed "he" had the right answers!... Bwahahahahahahaha! (so many People digging holes and expecting to reach the top that way ...BwaHahahaha!...)

I truly hope you find what you are looking for...

I hope you truly mean that. Of course, that's a little too hard to tell through all of that laughing. I can't really tell if that's sarcasm, evil laghter, or whether you are laughing at something you TRULY find funny.

Wait for what? All I need is to find the right group of people to talk to and hang out with and I could set this thing in motion.

By the way, I'm trying my best to work with what I've got, but what I've got sucks.
