Did this to extend the topic for you (Vampier), Etu, myself, Dane and others who wish to join in. Especially helpful averting the carpel tunnel from scrolling to Pg 38 :P

I personally believe that it is possible to lose forever one;s "immortality" either by personal actions or those of others who are knowledgable ... to vanish ...be wiped forever from the slate of existence ... never to return or to "be" anywhere. I realize this to be a somewhat controversial statement but I prefer to tell you regardless. Ta

I have always contended that our challenge with existence, is to maintain it, and not necessarily achieve it. In fact I would submit that we have already reached Immortality, and that immortality is often confused for "Invulnerable" . A circle can indeed have a breach of integrity, a weak spot in its wall.... If this is so, then I am immortal, full circled...but with compromises... even now, as I speak.. My task is to seek and align with that which affords my to ability remain alive, thus immortal. And lest we forget, As immortal beings, (alive), we should treat this as sacred, with deference and regard. All humans are sacred, are they not? War and death is the exploitation of vulnerability, which sets out to weaken the wall of the circle and undermine immortality. So, my friends... what is your insurance policy to cover the integrity of your circle... As vulnerable immortals, we are subject to all manner of transgression and cannot compensate for them in other dimensions (given our current state) . We either get it right..here in this domain...in this shelf-life...or we don't. We take our immortality with us...But understand...some subsequent domains are not necessary forgiving or easy on the breached walls of some circles....What buyer, shall want a broken ring? SO, I say that in this life , our mission is to strengthen our immortality. There are elements here to help us with that..and there are elements which we should always avoid.

PaperDog,

How do you go about aligning yourself with things that make your immortality stronger?

Also, to what end would this be towards?

do you believe in Einstein? in science? I think Einstein proved with the use of mathematics that energy does not extinguish itself, matter= energy.. when you give up the ghost, what happens to that energy? does it return to earth's atmosphere?

Surely our atoms will remain but not who we are ..... or what we were .... Our memories and lives will be gone
Immortality means nothing if the person we are is gone.

If THIS is IT . . . isn't life a bit pointless? I'm all about Spiritual Evolution, Re-Incarnations, and types of Karma.

My belief is that we began as a singularity, and from the desire to reflect upon our Self we separated a part of our Self and created duality, thus beginning the descent of this part of our True/Higher Self into the material plane, the Malkuth of the Tree of Life.

The God archetype represents our need to comprehend the Universe, to give a meaning to all that happens, to see it all as having some purpose and direction.

The Self is the God Archetype and the images and experiences to which it gives birth are the meaning-laden God-images of humanity: Temples, cathedrals, mandalas, castles, cities, magical fish, birds and land animals and forests and trees are among the Self symbols that appear in dreams.
- C.G. Jung

The ultimate goal is to Spiritually evolve and return home to our Higher Self, this involves separating from the Objective Universe (God archetype) and following what is called The Left Hand Path (LHP).

I am looking forward to science producing evidence of the "god-particle" ..really fascinating to me how we as a species of satient beings can invent the most advanced space rockets that can take us to Mars, invent the internet, etc. but we can't prove or disprove life after death, I know somebody or group of somebodys is working on the problem of what constitutes the life force, and whether we enter some new plane of existence after this life on earth is through..I'd like to believe my atoms remain intact as a Dane Ellis Allen personality and perhaps can enjoy heaven with bricks of gold, a self-illuminating abode full of joy and peace..

Actually my non religious thinking places more importance on this plane of existence .....
I am in the minority for sure.

I do not mean to disparage your Religious beliefs Mr. Allen - but how can you be sure its not your ' ego ' causing you to think this way ?
Ever since my father , best friend and Grand mother all died in the same span of a year I have been obsessing over my mortality.
I do not want to die. Sometimes I think " hey maybe there is a heavan and yeah all my family is there ... " ..... its vanity and ego ... nothing more.
What a downer ....
Is it beer time yet ??????

Yet the majority of religions insist that is what happens after your death!

Tom, I have absolutely no understanding of what's to come as the next person, I just HOPE whatever's next (if there is something next) is at least as good as life here on earth.Jesus told the criminal beside him being crucified if he would believe that Jesus would prepare a place in paradise for him, man I am game for some paradise! LOL... if the next stage is like sleep in the non-dream state I could live with that to, I just don't want to have to face the problems like disease, old age, and the general suffering man and the animal kingdom face eventually.. life can be great at this moment and tomorrow catastrophe strikes, what fun is that? George Harrison even wanted to be FREE FROM BIRTH!.. and Sting hits home with beached whales at a srpring time ebb and butterflies caught in spider's webs? ..while IS That My Soul up There?
