Im 18 but dont let my young age fool ya, im a kick ass guitarist and i pick up super quick. i am tryin to start a band in the lethbridge or brooks area, me as lead guitar/ back up vocals, and lookin for lead singer/rythm guitar, drummer and bass player. I AM TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY. I want to go somewhere with music. If i can get a kick ass band together by ctober i have 20 gigs for a euroupe tour already, and i have help from another already somewhat succesful band getting me gigs, recording/production and some recognition. I am lookin for guys aroud my age, but very good musicians, very focused on music, and knows what they want. If you wanna make it, and wanna be part of something kick ass, this is the band. I am a rocker, i like heavy stuff but any rock really. My music influences are, Slipknot, Crossfade, Nirvana, Smile empty soul, unloco, any kick ass rock and im there. My MSN is Sixstringssoloist@hotmail.com. if you wanna chat about the possibilities of this band add me and we can chat.

g!, you're incorrigible! I thought I was reading one of my own posts hahaha. I've never highlighted though, are you trying to upstage me??

Antwon,
You probably saw there were two responses to your thread and thought we were interested - so I'm sorry about that, I know it's pretty arrogant of us (damn Americans, haha j/k)...

Lol. thanx for pointing out noone would respond because i have a slipknot influence. I like variety of rock and Slipknot is a great band. And if im losing responses because people are too close minded to accept other musical influences than i dont want them in my band anyway.

Atleast there is someone out there who isn;t completely mindless! people like g! really shouldn't be allowed on forums... they just waste space and time. it's quite simple dont reply unless it has to do with the post!

and what did this post you just made have to do with this individual topic?

im not mindless, and find it funny that some of you assume i'm mindless because of my comment. ive listened to many genres, and no, i dont like everything ive heard. but lets be realistic here. the majority of people dont like slipnkot. hell, this is a music forum, i hope id be right in thinking the members here have a more developed taste in music.

i wasnt being disparraging, i was being realistic. dont be so naive to think putting down bands like slipknot wont push people away.

Just because you don't like a band doesn't mean you should trash it in a fans post. if you appreciate music then you should allow those who appreciate there own music to do so in peace. if you have some little comment on a persons genre or group choices start a poll or keep it to yourself...
Don't reply to this post you would just be wasting your time. Because in done wasting mine... pointless...

OK, i put up a post in hopes to find band members in my area, and maybe start a band. Not for an arena of musical influence difference or whether someone is mindless or not.

i originally wasn't going to say anything, but now i have to just on the principle of going against your "don't reply to this post."

like i JUST said in my previous post, i wasnt being disparraging towards antwon. but im not here to be a tool and not say my honest thoughts. hell, what do you say to critics of YOUR music, maskeddrummer? "well, uh, if you don't like it, then go away!" howcome in real life, people say criticism can push you to be better, but online, i "should just ignore the thread"?

hell, according to your logic of "dont reply unless it has something to do with the post" you shouldnt be in here either, hypocrite.

How can criticizing a band you like help you perform or be better as a musician? it has nothing to do with the band or the musicians themselves. so how is complaining about a certain band choice of theirs affecting their talent or skills as a musician? it has no bearing on the caliber of the musician or the band itself. making the first comment in this post pointless, it is in no way assisting antwon in his search nor will it help him perform better. so how does critisizing a persons music preference 'push them to be better'?
