The Bluefin Tuna Band will be at Jerry's Bait Shop in Lee's Summit June 13. We will be headlining a three act show. I believe we will go onstage after 8pm some time. Come on out and support live, local music.

Ooh that's not half bad..
How about "TunaFin Bob"? I even like "The Tune-a-Fin Robbers" or "The Tune-A-Fin Roberts".
Sounds like fishing and music, a nasty mix, plenty of alcohol, cigarette smoke and blues.
PS; The bait shop will be a cool backdrop.

Not that I like smoking but I wish they allowed smoking there and I wish allowing smoking at ALL public places was an OPTION of the owners. Before the smoking bans the clubs always had a lot more people in them. More people = more $$ for ME. Jerry's Bait is a classic rock bar. I'd be amazed if we get an offer to play on a weekend there. I've seen a few bands there and it's too frigin loud, didn't understand any of the vocals. They have their own sound system and soundman. I'm going to tell them keep it down and NO REVERB on the vocals please. There's enough natural echo from all the hard surfaces there.

Don't know what it's like in Kansas, but around here no 'businesses' allow smoking in the building anymore. Clubs that have a high number of smokers (usually places where bikers go) have an outside 'terrace' area set up, but I think in general the numbers are down at clubs everywhere due to the economy and increasing age of those interested in the music.
The 'loud thing' has been going on for too long!

I wonder you could go to City Hall and get a special permit that allows concession for the "Stage Performance of smoking" (as part of a show) . Then let all the patrons in on the act...

Actually the gig is in Missouri. In Kansas the bars that allow smoking are private clubs. There's not a lot of them around, but we gigged at one. They have some sort of membership fee but I'm not sure how that works. The public places in Ks and Mo. Don't allow smoking inside.

A promoter is putting on this show. Maybe he'll be doing some Youtube vids. That would be okay with me. Hopefully it'll be beneficial for his business.

ok, I've got to ask, but did Hot Tuna have an influence on your band's stylings? since the name of your band is similar?..

. I'm not familiar with Hot Tuna, so if we do anything similar it would be pure coincidence.

Bob here's Hot Tuna covering Muddy Water's "Can't Be Satisfied". They were the original Jefferson Airplane's guitarist and bassist.
