Musician Forum - Band Discussion Board - BandMix

We've got our first gig, we'll be "headlining" a three band show on Wednesday June 13 at a big rock club, Jerry's Bait Shop in Lee's Summit, Missouri and yet we haven't been able to finalize a good band name yet. Anybody have any good ideas for band names? Seems like every idea we have is already in use by bands with varying web presences. I'm starting to think there's no original thinking on planet Earth.
Tomorrow, Saturday May 26 I'm subbing on bass at a wedding, a classic rock and blues band is doing the music. The great drummer Terry Stanley is in the band. Not bragging here, but rhythm sections don't get much better than that.

Thinwater blues band?

Anyone that has ever been fishing from a boat knows what thin water is... You are just about to stuff your prop in the mud or run on the rocks. Thin water has given me the blues more than once.

. I'm not sure thin water caused you to stuff your prop. May have been something stronger than water what caused it...

Geeze Bob. With an insurmountable problem like that you should just give up.
But this sounds like a fun game, even though everything will be shot down. The last thing I would want to see is you not playing because of a name. How about:
Johnson Boys Blues Band. Or:
Stinky Finger Blues Band.
Red White and Blues.
Or let's get away from the blues thing and hide it a bit more...

Blue Water Smoke.
Sky Blue Thunder Band.
Blue sky Thunder.

. Good one James, except I don't want to have the band participate in any activities that the federal government already does....

Geez that's a tough one.

Kind of like asking me to name one of your kids man.

Seems like good names really are a dime a dozen.
Picking the "right" one is the tricky part.

We threw out several and had our fans vote and JERICHO MARCH was by a large margin the winner.
(though not my particular favorite)

Perhaps a contest at the gig ?

That's a cool name but don't you have to march around the venue for seven days? Bet that name brings the house down.
