Went to Chichen Itza yesterday. Hotter than hell here. Very beautiful and the food is awesome!

When we were there about 8 years ago we had a great time ... even got to climbed the Big Pyramid ( I think its off limits now ).... and yeah it was HOT !

They said graffiti artists were defacing the upper chambers. I haven't been there since 1986, it's changed quite a bit; they finished the Observatory which was still being excavated/reassembled when I was last there. A lot more commercial as well, but that's like everywhere.
The people are so nice and friendly here, I could see myself retiring to one of the gringo villages they have. The resort is fantastic, five star in every detail. They have eight restaurants, I think we hit most of them except for the French and Indonesian places (check out Valentin Imperial Maya, I highly recommend it if you don't mind walking a lot - the place is huge!).
I heard it was 90 in Detroit today, and will be all weekend. I'm planning a Farley-Q at my place Monday, my in-ground pool is ready and I have two BBQ cookers ready!
This is paradise but I can't wait to get back home!

Try the Royal Mayan in Cancun. I had a time share there for 15 years
and they know what side their bread is buttered on. The American side.
