Advance warning: these are lo-fi home demos, and the first two feature my vaguely Dylanesque singing.

Probably not easy finding others in your area who DON'T want to to southern rock, but keep persisting, I hear lots of potential in your stuff!

I really like where your head is. The tracks remind me of a lot of soundtracks from 60's movies. "Smile he doesn't hate you" reminds me of some Sergio Santos Mendes in the middle portion. (Good Bad and the Ugly, Fist full of Dollars) Just another cloudy day was a nice composition with the thunder clips thrown in. You have a lot of good ideas and some real potential.

I like your stuff Penguin.

as to Southern rock. I'm rethinking that (here in Atlanta) after trying to figure out just what that means.

Dime Bag and Zak Wylde, folks like that, have opened it up a bit.

I find that while I don't consciouly play southern rock its coming out of a southern boy and that's not a bad thing.

btw - your bass sound on the recordings took me back to a guy I heard play just before I started playing bass (a loooong time ago). He was wearing a wifebeater and suspenders and had the unselfconscious chic of the sixties. I was enthralled - I don't even remember if they had a guitarist! :D

Eh, I don't really think of my stuff as southern rock -- it just tends to sound similar because of the guitar tones and my accent. ;) But thanks!

You misunderstood me - your stuff is NOT southern rock (whatever that is).
