Pete and I finished mixing and mastering my cover of King Crimson's "Red" last night. I added some additional bass overdubs and revisited the middle section's rhythm guitar. Mike and I started this process over a year ago. I just posted it on my RUI Musik site's player, check it out.

I have to qualify first & to be honest Jimmy, I just don't like this song.
The playing recording and mastering are quite professional.
Job well done.

Perfectly acceptable, most of KC's music is for most people unapproachable. I firmly believe that you shouldn't make music for the masses but for a very select audience. And just for the record, Crimson fans are steadfast and loyal to the point of obsessiveness. I know because I'm one.

Totally dig it Jimmy! Yes I am a fan of the Crimson. Back in the day we used to warm up with Lark's Tongues Pt2 just to "clear the mechanism".

I LOVE instrumentals. If you can make a statement with an instrumental then you've arrived as a guitarist. I was in a band years ago that did a bunch of them. Really cool stuff Jimmy.

It's a brutal monsterpiece. It's the only KC song I know, literally! I love it. I can't believe it's that long and I don't tire of it. You are a monster guitarist and this is on par with your best work. Plus the messed up times make it even more impressive. You are a force and I am honored to have worked with you.
I am so ready for the challenge of "around the bend". sendspace me!

Thanks so much brother Paul! I've got to get in the studio to get you a "vocal ready" version of "Up Around The Bend". We rehearse tomorrow, I'll talk to Pete about it then.

Not my favorite music in the work jimmy, but you did a hell of a good job.
How many hours went into this piece?
