The Composition is very good.

The Flange or chorus effect on the 2nd Eight bars of your vocals...still buries the words... I cant make out what you are saying. Maybe I'm just def.

Here's a tip. Keep that vocal and its effects as is...BUT add a flat vocal track on top of it. That way you retain your desired effect AND keep the old retards like me in a state of bliss over the discernability. - just a thought ;)

lol Paper you just don't give up.

I liked this tune until I got the last of it and the little harangue that goes with it.

You can critique this all you want, fact is that my version would be different.
And this isn't my version or so I have come to understand. (and forcibly so)

And so is life, a series of ups and down and this seems to be a "downward spiral" no insult to the NIN.

~

See you next time..
Order me a drink and something to eat.
I'll be along before the next waitress asks you "what'll it be"?

Scott, modesty will get you ... more modesty? hee hee!

I want to push this becuase i think its important... Lots of great musicians that can offer their 2-bits and we can all learn ...if only from talking about it. It will be some other musician soon...with his/her song...and so on...... and i do believe, in the end, its what you would want; yes? :)

You know I am always interested in doing the right thing, but right now it seems a bit less than important.

I am busy putting out my own fires and relighting some as well.

I mean, what's the point? This place had typically been a place for people to hide. No one really looks at the forums very much and those that do have their own agenda. I am just as guilty as the next guy.

I just don't feel all that inclined to return the favor either.
Most people want to live in whatever daydream they are currently in.
I say, "let them stay in it" and "everything is peachy".

I shouldn't even mention the people that don't bother to write any music at all. It must not be important to them or they think "Mustang Sally" is going to "bring em to the promise land".

Wanna buy some bridge? I got the Brooklyn Bridge for sale, really cheap.
What a bargain? This forum is good for comedy relief and that's about it.

actually Scot, you're wrong.
with very few exceptions the regulars here listen to everything that's brought to the fore.

And you're anger and frustration seem to stem from the fact the the gentlemen here do not provide editing assistance.

for me personally it is much more helpful for people to say to me,
I didn't like that, than anything else they could say.
but that's just me.
because I am working alone, and I don't mind working alone, sure everything takes longer and most stuff won't be as cool as it might be.
but i don't have any trains to catch, so it's fine.

by and large they say; I like this or I do not like that.
but you want some one to help you polish your incomplete idea.
that's called a collaborator.
well that mostly never happens due the fact that everyone knows they won't get any credit for production assistance.
critique is not production, it is criticism.
and I really don't think I need to get into a pissing contest over what the word criticism means.

but in your case I will make an exception, cause like I said, I like you and I like what your aiming at.

"get one more poet and one more player in the room with you and work on the idea until everyone agrees that the song is complete."

Ok JCP, let me take a different tact with you.

In the past, we load up new music on this site to be critiqued.
It's generally critiqued on tech aspects, not so much whether you like it or not. That way at conclusion, most of us do another version which is supposed to be better. Some repost and some do not.

We usually express whether we like it or not, but we use solid material to explain what we liked or didn't like. That way it's not too personal at all.
(Hang around a little, you'll see one done shortly of this I am sure, it just won't be one of my tunes. :))

It's just a critique, but you'd have to know what has gone on in the past along these lines. Paper has a great idea, he just picked an unlikely subject to be the first.

LOL My anger has nothing to do with anyone that doesn't want to speak.
(I am just an angry guy in general and life is difficult of late so sorry if I come off too angry. It's a way of life in the tri-state area)
I am the first one to line up to throw out "the first pitch" usually.

I am completely receptive to "I didn't like that".
What I really want to know is what aspect made you dislike it, but I let it go if people say they don't like it. (everything is subjective)

Trains to catch? hmm. I am trying to get a spot on an event tour but that has nothing to do with trains (that I know of), I wonder if that is a MINT reference?

There have been plenty of critiques so far, you can look them up in the forum and read them. People don't have issues doing what they want to do. They have issues doing that which they are not inclined to do.

Gee, right about now I am a little worried I might get demoted to "Security Officer Scott" and you know those guys in the red uniforms do not last long at all.

(Thanks to whomever voted besides Paper)

JCP

"I sometimes have a horrible fear of turning up a canvas of mine. I'm always afraid of finding a monster in place of the precious jewels I thought I had put there!
Camille Pissarro"

That quote really summed up my recent attempts at recording. I'd work hard, and think I had it sounding ok and then next day I'd listen and it sucked.
