MARIPOSA

Means 'Butterfly' in Spanish.

This is a new song (on my profile) I just wrote a few weeks ago for my girlfriend. She is such a peaceful lady, a beautiful heart, who endured some pretty awful history, and came out of it with stellar shine ... Truly , she is amazing.

This song is an also an exercise in Chromatic phrasing, some pentatonic... very 'beatlish' as always , but only in musical/movement principle , not any attempt in signatuire emulation...

When she heard this...it drafted a tear from her...

I did my job... :)

Dog, out of all the musicians/writers whose music I have heard here on bandmix I place your songs among the BEST! While listening to Mariposa and found myself enjoying it like a favorite movie! You know the type that you don't want to end! As I age I am finding that I enjoy the Beatles, Stones and MOST of the music & sounds from the 60's more than I did as a younger man ! Great Job when you start selling your cd's you have a huge fan here! I just wanted you to know that!

Frankly I like your other stuff better ...

Was it my player or is your new track so supersaturated with effects that I can scarcely make out the words ?

George it must be your player. The vocals were very clear to me. I listened to it through head phones plugged into my laptop! I really like the effects you are using.

Sans, It might be the player, but admittedly, this was a click track and wasn't really prepped with a full mix. I know he (George the engineer) did equalize it and said it might be 'hotter' than normal (meaning saturation and other levels).

The only effect he used (that I'm aware of ) was som tap delay and little reverb...mostly on the vocals.

Sorry its not resonating with you, but its cool, I toitally understand..different tastes, etc.

But thanks for giving it a listen Your opinions do carry weight with me ;)

That was Jeff , but I'll second him if that helps. :)

Ok so now we have two great songwriters up here. I can definitely deal with it.

Thats not to put down any one else like JW who has also posted some great original material.

Thanks Dawg. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!
