How do you cope with people that slow you down>?

Do any of you have to cope with people that you have to prod a little and guide to the barn? I fing hate that.

I am getting pissed. I just had to hold off for 2 weeks to wait for another fellow to do his part and still he's done nothing to finish a tune basically already done.
It should have been mastered, posted for critique and added to the soundclick site. Instead it's the very same, waiting for people to kick it into high gear and do their part.

Even worse, I am supposed to go and work on new material(s).
I don't fing think so. Why? So that music can sit around as well? Faq no.

It makes me want to sell my sh*t and take up "boating".

Do what you say you're going to do or shut your mouth.
No one wants to hear you've been having a good time and yet didn't bother to deliver the goods cause you been busy.

It's the mark of the Sloth...make sure you don't catch it or people that you work with will become upset as well.

If they are doing it for free, you get what you pay for.
If it's a partnership, time to find another partner.
If they work for the same people you work for, you're stuck unless their boss does something.
If it's your brother-in-law, blame your wife!

Sounds like the age old DUMPS or 'Dragging Under Musical Partners Syndrome'

I have seen this before in others...they hold up the train so to speak...

The first official case was diagnosed in the 70's when David Cassidy couldn't get that little-bitch redheaded Danny Partridge to get his homework finished in time for their gig that evening...

It set them back for a year... Thanks god there were enough commercials to amuse us, while they sorted it out.
   8)

"There is no worse feeling than when you know it's oozing from your soul in a good way and yet you can neither staunch the wound nor record it because of whatever bullshit environmental control is in effect this day".

Conversely if you were in a sh*t mood and couldn't write even a little bit, then it'd be a green light all the way to the mixing board. No issues whatsoever..

It's a musical variation on "Murphy's Law".

Mr Scott I believe your "Mark of the Sloth",
is taking over our country, to many Happy Meals,
and soda pop.

We were born to run from the animals, not eat them
incessantly while our body size grows to gigantic
proportions, just look at all the people today who care
so much about every little issue in life, but can't stop their
hand from delivering the killer to there mouth.

Oh boy I just got the news today. (gun to head)

One of the couple of entities that I work with read this forum/post/whatever and thinks it's all about THEM.

So as a result, it's looking like a re-organization is coming. (typical)

I was waiting for a tune to get mastered but I don't think it's "coming down the pike" for a while.

I am going to work with "Asteroid Suicide Cult" a little as this set was asked to do a private party in May and I'm unsure it's doable at this time.

I am going to buckle down and prepare a little, see if we can't "get this party started".

I am posting "Seven", it's rough but it's all there for the moment.
"Seven" refers to a small robot buddy Lester built on the way to the Andromeda Cluster and the ensuing trip that encompassed a year's time.
The tune has some great extra stuff that's not in it but "it is what it is", incomplete.

"ASC" and I just finished a tune called "Drifter Me".
I mastered it, so it's rough at best but it has a certain heavy quality to it that you may like. Sometime after the 5th, I may even(gulp) post it.

PS: STFU GENE.

By the time you read this, you'll be able to hear the rough version of "Seven" it's the only thing on my player at this time.

If I don't hang around as much as I used to, I am still pulling for each and every one of you in spirit if not in physicality.

Do what you do.
Stand by your guns.
Be the best you can be and don't settle for 2nd place.
No one else does, why should you?
Don't change just cause the wind is blowing strange.

-S.

If you expect everyone to be like you.
You will always be as frustrated as you are.[/b]

Am I supposed to refute or support your argument?

I never know what to expect anymore..you just do what you do.

There are only roles in plays or TV. We all live in a real world
with diversity and indifference. To Bully your way through instead
of preparing and managing will only add to personal stress and
frustration as you are displaying. You know there are idiots, you
know there are quacks. Why do you sound so astounded?[/b]

Oh my goodness, JERSEY SHORES the musical version.
Scotty, didn't you take enough stuff from idiots last year?
Sorry, I think you have a lot of talent,,,, If you don't have any one to believe in you the way you do.....
Sucks, just plain sucks.

It's been said that "In capitalism, man exploits man. In Communism, it is reversed!"

BUt in music, we exploit ourselves...

The energy we give to unsatisfactory partnerships is a way of throwing away pieces of your life while dampening your enthusiasm for the very music you've created.

I am not a musical bully. lol

If I was, I'd have a "mastered" copy of the tune I was working on with adds and "extra sparkle" because that's the way it was coming after it was mastered. (just like fresh soft serve on a summer's day)

And you know that didn't happen..

There is a ton of speculation about what happened, but truth is I am not really sure and content to let it go at that.

"It is what it is".

I think the last tune may be the choicest of the pack though. (Seven)

The "space opera sounds at the end" had me on the edge of my seat.
It was to be more widely incorporated but that was before .. and now is now. I am nowhere near the technical level to master and finish the adds.

I am just going to stick with some of the more basic tunes I was to record and see if I can't get the "Asteroid Suicide Cult" folks to help me cut a few choice selections out in the interim.

If life throws you a curve ball, try using a curved bat!

Well said Talbot......

The energy we give away to unsatisfactory partnerships,
that was the story of my life, I think I've changed now.
Only time will tell.

Guess I'll go listen to 7, hope you and your partner
are doing well Mr. Scott. Your's was one of the few
ensembles on this forum that included piano in your
recordings, a plus to me.
