Sean you are a hell of player, yet you seem
to get know love from this forum. You have
guitar playing skills, better than most on here,
but guitar is so much more than solos, and I love
solos, I love rhythm, and understated guitar also.
Acoustic guitar can even have its moments.
Rock on Sean, I know you can.

I have posted a solo Sean. Except, someone like you will never understand the intricacies of what I put up to share. I doubt you even listened.
I thought you were making some headway a while back.
Now I don't think you will ever understand the difference between your technical playing abilities, and lets say 10 seconds of Duane Allmans slide playing.
The difference between Fisherman Bob being such a great bass player,or Dawg sharing a new song. A voice like Klugs, playing like some of the other great musicians here.
These are all intangibles, that leave you out of the loop. I think you have to reach down between your legs and grab onto your knees, and do some long hard thinking before you come on here to have your ego stroked.
Sorry Sean, I wish I had some of your technical abilities,,, But not as much as a trade off for creative abilities.

I listened to it Glen, good job, your a player,
but so is Sean, perhaps your both hard to get
along with?
Glen your solo started out with a Allman Bros
Tied to the Whipping Post feel to it, and by the
end of the solo I thought I caught a glimpse of a
piece of Santana, good job.
I love guitar solos, it's what guitar players do!

I couldn't get past :17 seconds.
Sean, no one doubts the fact you can play.
What is definitely in doubt is that you can play more than one thing aka play with varied style/genre.
I mean, all is good if you are covering VH but what else do you have in the armory?
YOU MUST DEVELOP YOUR OWN STYLE ELSE RISK BEING INCONSEQUENTIAL.
- Dad.

I love a good shut-up and play your guitar thread,
here's mine, "Death" a duet, written sung and all
instruments played by me. Special thanks to Rocky
Johnson on drums, who just got out of prison.
We're Rockin in the USA, are you?
It's the only song on my player a 5 minute guitar
solo with words.
Let's hear your solo

Lynard, sorry man, you missed the whole point of why I even posted that to my profile. Don't feel bad. Let me explain,,,,,
I was jamming with a really great drummer,,,,, and a really great guitarist,,,,
None of that was Planned, NONE OF IT! This was just some really KOOL musicians jamming, and exploring, and opening all sorts of creative doors.
As a matter of fact it was totally out of context of the song we were playing....... Then they brought it back. LOL.
WHOLE DIFFERENT LEVEL,,, Give me 2 months and a different headset and I will do everything that mr Akins is doing.

I can't solo to save my f**k life im just a really complicated rhythm guitarist but I can tell the difference between someone soloing with awesomeness and some 1 just showing off

Bonamassa friggin' rules. I just started listening to his stuff in the past year.
Got a chance to see him in Phoenix in Jan. Scored 5th row tickets the day of the show for 1/2 price. Score.

I might have made it a few seconds longer than Chief Engineer Scott. Up until that point it was atonal noise, cacaphony, not any kind of "solo" that I'm familiar with. I don't know if you got into anything melodic after I turned it off, but there wasn't anything melodic going on in the beginning. Perhaps some technical ability showcased, but ZERO emotional content.

Applause, the forum has spoken:
Glen you are sincere, I believe, and
I did like your solo, let's here it in
2 months.
gtzip, forever huh, maybe it's time for
a new one, you know moving your music
ahead. Forever sounds stagnant.
x2 huh Slacker, if you can't realize
Sean's talent how can you reconize
anyones.
x3 Sans the solo is the part of the song
where the musician adds a little melodic
colour to the song. Keep practicing and
you'll figure it out, I'm serious.
XhaDoW-6, many skip learning to play rhythm,
and go write into soloing. The soloist in a rock
band context usually plays against the rhythm.
Melodic intervals aren't quite as complicated as
harmonic intervals.
Johnny7, I could of put up music from some player
I think is great also, but I thought this was a play your
solo thread. Sean did, Glen did, I did, can you play a solo
and show us your mastery of the neck?
Denny good to hear from you, I apologize to you if I said
anything to offend you, I didn't mean too. This was a solo
thread by soloists from the forum, I'm sure Bonnamassa
is good, but I could list pages of great guitar playes.
Bob do you know what atonal means, do you know how notes
form intervallic relationships with each other. I realize you are
great in your own mind. Instead of critizing Sean why don't you
put up a bass solo. To me your comment "not any kind of "solo"
I'm familiar with", that's a compliment, since to listen toyou talk,
your just interested in the tired old overused blues scale, which
I'm willing to bet you don't even know the componenets of.
Mr Scott you could probably take lessons from Sean while you
point out that all his stuff sounds like EVH, all your stuff sounds
the same, you don't play at the same speed as some of us (your
slower, just listen to your stuff).
It seems to me we judge people on this forum by how we like
the person and how he fits into the forum, rather than his musical
accomplishments.
Besides the other 2 on this thread (Sean and Gleen) who put up solos
I'd say none of you could play the solo I put down on my player right
now. Don't get all huffy and say yes I could, (talk), if you could you'd
do it, you can't. I don't require forum approval of my playing to know
I can play,(just look at all the opportunities to play I turn down).
For this to be a music forum there'd be more focus on music, not
a gathering of players who think they are the best and use mean
criticism's of others to build there self up.
Let your music do your talking, mine is and I don't care what you
think of it, I'm proud. So the usual would be for the name calling
and degradation to begin. I can't even call names right, your
music speaks to me now, some alot better than others.
There I feel a little better.
