I've always wanted to perform in one. When I've mentioned it to my wife she actually is excited! She is supportive of my music but not excited. So I'm home baking birthday cakes for my daughters' birthdays today. I'm listening to songs from "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" on youtube....

That is my mom's favorite movie. She infected me with it from my youth! lol! I own a copy, I've owned the soundtrack, I've watched it dozens of times, I've now infected my daughters! they love it! :)
I thought why not look into doing a musical. I searched the local theater ..... http://www.showtimers.org/
I saw they had just finished casting a play. Then I thought I'm only interested in musicals. I clicked on their 2012 season and in July they are running "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers".

I literally got a wave of nausea! Because I knew I was going to audition.

My wife and I had talked about me getting in on a musical as a supporting role to get my feet wet.

Well since this is MY movie. And since I can manhandle the lead characters songs I'm straight GOING for it!

Hey, it's a new musical challenge/adventure!
Wish me luck!

Paul

That is exciting news. Do you get to dance? Play guitar? etc?

Always thought that doing one of those would be cool as it gets. If everyone in the production is really into it then it will be a trip to put it all together and see all that working.

Have fun with it!

There is a lot of dancing in the movie. It's mostly the other brothers though.

My high school chorus teacher wanted me to be Tevya in Fiddler - I think I was one of the only kids in 1973 with a beard! I said no thanks and helped run the soundboard instead. I don't regret that decision. The only musicals I could abide were Tommy and JC Superstar - musicwise.
But, it can be a great experience - and a lot of work.

Paul.

Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. This is where you belong. Your good with music, love the arts and I think you'll enjoy this next adventure very much.
Hope you get it, and if not get something like it, you'll love it.

Nice one, good luck.
