Just got in from the show (it's 12am)! I will say that OOONLY ZZ Top after 5 DECADES can PACK a 70,000 seat ARENA! I love my HOME BOY's. We had AWESOME seats right next to the sound company (IMO) should be FIRED ASAP! I have seen MANY show's in the Astrodome and that venue was notorious for having an echo and bad sound. Having said that they had fixed the problems regarding sound in the Astrodome MANY years ago! The sound tonight was the WORST sound I have ever heard at ANY concert. ZZ top did a GREAT job as usual. Apparently they have NOT figured out how to get GOOD sound in Reliant Stadium. As far back as I can remember the Astrodome was considered a GREAT venue it was the 8th Wonder of the world! IMO (hell it's just a fact) the Reliant stadium is a (PUTZ)!

Funny you mentioned that sound issue.

not too long ago saw some footage of the TOP on TV from a live performance.

The instrumentation was muddy as hell though the vocals sounded OK.

These guys are kinda old now ... maybe deaf too? :?

George, Top did great! The sound is a seperate issue beyond their control. The acoustics in the Reliant Stadium is the problem. A problem that a good engineer SHOULD be able to fix. I was hearing time alignment problems with the enclosure's. Seriously I can say that our live sound sounds better than what I heard last night.

Haley when I went and saw Journey a while back I think I shared with you that I didnt care for thier mix, it was just to many effects for the volume.

Top has always been a bit muddy when Ive seen them. But I love those guys they are so cool. A friend of mine caters and they call him to cater thier shows when they are in this area, Ive tryed to get him to let me help, but he hasnt called yet, he said they stay on thier buses most of the time. They like the ribs that he fixes them. Pork ribs not beef ribs! LOL I think that is funny with them being the little ole band from Tajas, you would think they would want beef ribs!

After witnessing that "Little Ole Band From Texas"
I realize what an effect & inspiration those "good ole boy's" have had on my spiritual and musical life and career!

One other thing! Frank Beard has ALWAY'S BEEN IN MY OPINION the MOST under-rated drummer of my generation! Seriously he NEVER GOT THE RESPECT HE DESERVES'S!
