hey guys,

thinking about doing a month sign up to try things out.

is a month really needed to try and make connections in my local area in your opinons ?

does band mix charge your card automatically every month as i would only like to try it for one month ?

am a intermediate lead guitarist in rockvillle, md trying to find a group of people with similar musical tastes to do a cover band.

your thoughts appreciated

If you are signing up with just the idea of meeting local musicians then I think you are wasting your money, try the local Craigs List, Local music stores, talk to the tech guys in the music shops they know who plays and who doesnt, or just get out to places you would like to play covers in and meet actual people who are doing it, let them know who your are, in most areas its a really small group of people who are actually playing, get to know them is the best thing you can do in my opinion.

really need all the insight i can get. new to the gig scene as i've always been way to focused on the 9-5 but trying to make more time to really jam and network to find like minded band mates.

You can hide your contact info in your profile, just put some spaces in it so it doesnt block it out, LOL! for free!

By the way anyone suggest any good open mic placed in Bethesda or Rockville maryland ?

I pay a year at a time and get a discount.

So what DO people get out of a payed sub here. other than the ability to message each other (like there isn't a million free ways to do that already)?
Do bands listing here get gigs from their listings?
I see a ton of people in my area who don't have any ocntact info in their profile, so I assume they have paid, but at the same time they don't have any music or videos posted either. 'Wannabes'?

This place would not be here if not for paying folks.

a subscription allows you to post more music it about the only thing I get out of it, but I do pay yearly, figure I should support the place, sort of like rent.

I pay strictly to indulge in the abuse...

So sounds like no one is getting gigs out of being listed at this place. There are plenty of places to upload your music to that would get more traffic than here...
