It's always fun to me to watch an artist break out of "supposed rules". I mean have you ever even met another black guy in your genre?
So I'd like to hear a coheed and cambria type vocalist on this. Your mix is actually very clear for your genre too. The guitar work is precise. I have to say the bass is practically nonexistent. The keys are little too present. The drums are canned so that's a turn off. Your guitar tone is surprisingly good for your genre too. You're impressive in my book. I hope you'll pursue your genre and find others others to make music with. You clearly have talent and drive. How old are you?

Impressive to say the least. I was listening to "Shadow OF the Phoenix" and I loved it. I'm on a 44Kbpm line modem so I was just going to sample it, but I couldn't stop at that. It was well worth the long wait. Great composition. You rock, dude. The only part that I didn't care for was the rapid drum thing near the end that went on too long (personal taste) but it was easily put behind me as soon as it quit.

Nice work.... A budding shredder to be sure

RE: That drum machine... To avoid the digital mechanized fake sound of the rolls, one trick I recently discovered was if you are doing 64s its better to tap in 4-6 notes per measure and accent off the ends of those measures (gives a more realisitic sounding attack...especially if you cascade your roll off of snares to toms, etc
Also, in the studio, try doing symbols on a separate track... (treat em like percussion)
Just my humble thoughts

Thanks for the tips I'm always open for advice in the process of looking for a better drumming program the 1 I have now it's kind of out dated and it sucks at halftimeing either that or I suck at half timing one of the two
