This kid just sends me a message out of the blue on youtube. Just mass spamming asking for a critique. I gave it to him and asked for one in return. He had some strengths and weaknesses.

He has a lackadaisical, Jack Whte (white stripes) vocal that's quite quirky. Occasionally bad, but often lovable.

So a few songs later he comes back with this totally BOSS Hendrix/Mayer straight blues/rock MONSTER guitar song. Tiny short pop perfection 2:40 long.

I'm gushing... settle down.....

Dude he's a flippin' boy!! 19 I think.

I straight asked him to send it to me without vocals and without drums.
His bass on the first song he sent was mediocre. This one kills. So does his rhythm and lead guitar work. MAN!

I told him the lyrics were funny and almost creepy! lol!!

It is refreshing to see the younger generation taking the torch and running with it!

Wow! Very impressive! I agree on the vocals-it's not that they are bad, they just seem a little forced to me, like he's going for something that he can't produce. I'll bet he could vocally wail if he approached it in a more melody-minded way, rather than trying to get a husky vocal...?

You may be right. I'm thinking it's his natural tone but that he needs to develop control. That's just a guess. I really like his tone. It's slightly reminiscent of Elvis Costello.

His guitar playing reminds me of SRV!

No doubt. I told him Jimi Hendrix/John Mayer. That's totally like SRV as well. He actually put Hendrix SRV in the title of the video now.

Boy don't run with that ... You'll put somebody's eye out !
