As musicians we are our own worst critics! We know our own strengths and weaknesses. Being an old fart I realize time is short I hope to be alive for another 25 years. That is why I am so passionate about politics and I am sure you other old farts feel the same way. I am not going to apologize for my political or religious beliefs. Having said that I don't expect any of my friends that feel differently about politics than I do to apologize either. We are entitled to our own religious and political beliefs! I will apologize to ALL of you if I have offended ANY one on this site. After all WE ARE MUSICIANS and AMERICANS every last one of us! Occasionally I KNOW I need a good b!tch slappen to wake up! Scotty applied that to me today! There ain't many folks I will allow to hand me one. HE IS RIGHT WE TAKE THIS PASSION OF POLITICS to far! This is a music forum and to all you new FABULOUS MUSICIANS I APOLOGIZE and WELCOME YOU! We really aren't that bad!
I made a New Years Resolution to be LESS NEGATIVE and I feel I have drifted away from that! I am a work in progress and still have a LOT to learn. I am going to try and stay away from negetive comments as I know ya'll don't want to hear that sh!t from me anymore. Thanks for putting up with me and my rants!

Bah. Let it rip Jeff. This is great place to blow off steam. I hold nothing against you for anything you've ever said, regardless how much I disagree with it. And for all the pussies that think we shouldn't talk about religion, politics our any other silly thing on our minds I say go hide your head in the sand. I'm WAY more than just some guy who can play guitar, I'm a whole person with ideas and opinions and if anyone doesn't like it they can kiss my ashtray.

WHOM EVER thinks I have no right to pipe up and tries to tell me to STFU ..let me just say that you can go F.U.C.K. yourselves raw, in the A.S.S> with a big Donkey Cock...then Eat s.h.i.t and die, you Mother F.U.C.K.e.rs.
And I will get physical on anybody that tries to stop me.

I relish my indifferance here. My Country music among all the Rock. My
opinions that make people shake their heads. My speratic squables with
a chosen few. It kinda brings me closer to yall. Anyway in my head it does.
I would tell any of you to F yourself quicker than a stranger. But in an
endearing way ha ha.
So J Haley, F You Brother.[/b]

I just don't like the thought of the younger musicians coming in here and seeing a bunch of GROUCHY OLD MEN b!tchin and harpin about things us old farts usually b!tch and harp about! This being a music forum I am going to TRY to do my part to keep it that way! I am going to try and not post on the political threads (no promises) but I'll try. Sometimes while reading those threads I feel like my head is just going to explode like a grenade it is at those times I have to let it out LMAO!

Like Jimmy said, were people also, politics,
becomes invovled in my music, lyrically.
The 60s was about politics and music. If we
scare some let them go hide behind there
Mommas skirt.
I like everybody on this site, and some that
I've been into it with the most, are some of
the ones whose opinion I value the most.
This is a great place to vent.
Only 25 more years Haley? You set your sites
to low.
This is a cool site.

I have today off (Pesidents Day) . Tonight I will be driving to West Virginia to
takedown a LG. Sycamore tree for my fishing buddy that is leaning over his trailer. I will go to the local bar and let him buy me 6-8 cold ones and hope not to get in
a fight with any locals.
I dont climb much anymore but I like to know I can still do it. Swinging around in a tree on a rope with a chainsaw has been good to me over the years.
Been foolin with them since 78. Today I am reflecting and feeling a little old.
Retirment is near and presents a new stage of my life. Music is a bright spot in that life.
I hope to get real creative when that time comes.
SRY for the personal venting.[/b]

Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice.
Your a good man Jeff.
But I'll make no apologies on my convictions either.
Nor will I apologize if one was to take offense.
If your offended by the TRUTH ... your on the wrong side of eternity.

Jimmy says it for me too these things are what life's about what we write about, what we feel, love, anger, sadness, hate, regret.

J-Haley..
I don't always accept or believe everything anyone does or says, but you don't chip away at my soul like some of these others do.
NEVER let me hear again you apologizing for the way you feel.
In the long run that's really the only thing that's yours.
I just keep thinking I will read something on here and have an epiphany that elevates me to another musical level. If all we do is complain about one politician or another, I don't get to have my epiphany.
This is really why I started dropping my music on this site.
I need the epiphany, I need the inspiration and I need the raw material to grind up and reconstitute.
I guess I am being selfish but when it comes to music, I don't care anymore.
And unless I am taking some hostages and making a political stand, the state of politics these days makes me want to leave the country. Otherwise it's a helpless feeling I am powerless to stop.
I can't do anything to stop these liars and con men except to vote.
And when you ask me what voting means to me, I ask what caliber voting am I supposed to be doing.
Oh and I don't write political tunes, either. It doesn't contain enough empathy to get a good cry out of anyone, unless it's a cry of dismay.
~
I played a scratch track for someone I know of late and she cried at the end. I raised my hands in the air and yelled in triumph.
She asked me what that was all about.
I told her that "it's a sad song and the fact you cried without any lyrics means we are on the right path to what were looking for".
I figure if I don't sell any CD's or do anything much of note, the fact that I can make em cry is the best indicator that I am actually penetrating that shell we all live in and thus a big "W" in the win or lose column.
If all this site is to be is a pack of wolves venting about something they can't or won't do anything about, it's pretty much over for me as it bores me to tears.
If you want to fight, I say let's fight. (I like that one, cause I am a 16th century type of guy)
If you want to make music, I say let's make music.
If you want to whine about how old you are or how your pu**y hurts, try getting that into your (and I mean everyone's) music.
None of you are making anything stellar that I can see or hear, thus you are wasting time and energy on nonsense that doesn't do one drop of good for anyone.
You never heard of a political forum? Or maybe you think that your fellow musicians are sympathetic to your rant(s)?
MAKE SOME MUSIC. If you devoted that energy you diverted to your mouth, maybe whoever would have something extra-ordinary on their player to actually listen to ?
(JHaley, not directed at you. You just started this thread)
Oh and f**k you Paperdog and anyone else..
If you want a piece, my milk bone underwear is staying on, come with it.
But when I break you down, don't cry because I gave you space to slip by because I'll just turn it up and I don't mean music, lil person.
Lynard got a taste and so have some others, if you play in your glass house, I will break your windows and then beat on you some more.
I want to be behaved but I am getting to the point, it's no longer possible.
If you think you wanna be aggressive, try doing that on my next critique because the song is basically done and the puffery most of you supply is not only pathetic but uninspired and not really helpful to adjust for a better product.
You don't like the president or whomever?
Why don't you run for office?
Oh yeah you got busted for >? and now you can't
Well ok, then stfu or figure out some other way.
Talk is cheap, action is not.
Be a man of action, not of talk.
You know what makes me the maddest of all?
When I lay a track for music I think is grand and my voice and/or my brain starts to screw with me. That's what makes me mad, not crap I have neither the inclination nor the ability to change or stop.
