I think myself and JSantos might be the only people who care for this, but WOW.... I'm impressed

You were some what mistaken.

I enjoyed that ... pretty cool.

Though I have to question and wonder why play guitar with that much echo (intro) when you could easily play the parts themselves.

Perhaps I'm just simple that way

That's the way the original by Dream Theater was recorded. Petrucci used a lot of echo on that opening guitar part. The guy here is just replicating that.

AH ... that explains his use.

But not Petrucci's

I'm not all that knowledgeable about effects.
It's just seems redundant to use an echo to play a note or chord that is a full beat separated.

But like I said I know little on the subject.

Enjoyable clip though ... Thanks

Now to rehearsal !

I always dreamed one day I'd be good enough of a player - that I'd put in enough work and practice - to cover a Dream Theater tune note-for-note like that. To see those guys do that gives me serious inspiration...

The best part, to me, is watching how effortlessly the guitar player makes it all look. His technique is very similar to Petrucci's. He has attained that really relaxed feeling that Jamie Andreas talks about in her instructional videos... The only time he even sweats, it seems like, is during the really fast scales...

Awesome work all around. And an amazing job reproducing DT's sound (Mark IV, of course...)
