I think there is a new, previously unrecognized level of achievement for local musicians.
It should be a little monument with a golden poop.
It's called, "good enough to attract thieves and ripoffs".

I don't want to win that award, or any award
really, I do accept cash.
I've managed not to win that award by using
dogs, big dogs.

What do you do when your dog is not in range to bite them, though?
LOL
As in we just got enough attention to get all the bugs to come out from under their rocks,..,
I think I was happier before.

is this theft of mental property like material or physical theft, because one of my SM58s were stolen at a show.
Did I win this award?

Yes, you probably did AV.
If you played and they stole your SM-58, it's a definite award moment.
"You played, they stole your sh*t because they thought you were that good and they couldn't be as good as you without YOUR mic."
You are lucky that they didn't steal everything and a couple of loser manager type(s) that would suck your resources dry didn't cozy on up to you after and drop their cards in your lap.
I go with the gut feeling and 9/10x it is dead on.
If someone or something seems shady, it probably is.

Mr Scott the dogs do only work at home,
but I haven't been getting out lately, so I
haven't had to worry about road theft.
When I played out with a full group 4-5 guys,
1 guy stayed on the stage with the equip, 1 guy
out in the parking lot, the rest of us loaded.
I hate a thief.
You've got to go with your feelings.
Sorry to hear about your loss AV, you've got
to be careful, there just looking for a quick
break to get in and get your stuff.
The horror stories of stolen equipment encompases
all musicians, regardless of skill level.

When you steal from church, you know you are going to hell.
When you get there, they smile and greet you.
