I wonder ;
as the vocal chords are destroyed by that style of .... well I guess it's a form of rap really.
dose execution, get better or worse,
or do you lose the ability to speak altogether?

One - Its not that I don't like this style of music, I just don't listen to it.

>>>>Im coming up for air
but i cant tell which way is up
cause ive thrown myself into the darkness below
cast out and consumed by everyone I know.
Fall away.
No feeling.<<<<<

Nothing good can ever come out of this music or lyrics that I know of.

F'en this and F'en that. What a wounderful F'en world we live in.

but

you guys can play.

We had a young guy come along and school all of us a few years ago. His name is Ryan Strain. He does a style of vocals that seems to be destroying his chords. Yet, it never hurts, he can do it for hours without change, and years into it they haven't deteriorated. He showed that there is a proper technique for that genre. He opened a lot of our eyes. I don't seek it out. I usually stop listening after 30 seconds or less. Except Ryan. I can listen to him.

Cool video, and the music's rocking, but (there's always a but) I've seen and done shows with at least a hundred bands in the past ten years that sound exactly like this. I was hoping it would evolve a little by now.

I,m an old fart and the tin thin squeals of the "new metal" sound leave me cold. ( super high gain just sound so SS sterile to me now )
I also have no understanding nor appreciation for what is locally termed "cookie monster" vocals.

Not trying to be a dick ... just a difference in generation I suppose.

That being said ... you guys are rockin, and I can find no fault in that.

I,m sure there are a good many people who will really dig what your doing.
So I'm supportive ... even if I can't listen for very long without losing interest.

15 second is all I could do.

The cookie monster voice is difficult to listen to.

Guitar sounds good to me, it's just I have no cookies for the cookie monster.

If you have to go this route, emulate Life of Agony. At least they have a little more content than this genre usually delivers.

Then again, don't dig too deep because you have to stay true to yourself.
If this is what you feel, play it.

Listen, I'm Country but that guy is doin something I cant vocally.
That makes me admire him and all others that sing that way. I dont
and cant really listen to that style. People follow it and money
is made from it so in my book that makes it lagitimate. So go on
with your bad self, Oh video was good.[/b]

Looking good Mikey, I too cant listen to too much of your style of music, but I do respect what others chose to do.

Keep On Rockin Man, guitar sounds great!

THAT is where I am. I am always impressed when someone does something I can't musically. Whether it's sweep picking, or hammer claw rolls, or cookie monster vocals.

Paul, for a new band we are doing pretty good. the band averaged between 6-8 paid gigs a month this past year plus with merch. sales we kept the band in beer and hot pockets at least. That's what it's all about, being out there on stage and playing.

Jimmy, are you talking about the vocal style or the music itself? The band is more of a melodic hardcore band and hardcore actually sprang from punk rock. You know I don't post my bands stuff on this sight as there is no audience to target here. Band Mix is more for my classic rock, blues stuff.

Good to hear from you Mike !

Beer and hot pockets ... sounds like breakfast for me in 1979.

Of course that was cocaine, Budweiser and "Hot-To-Go" burritos from the 7/11.

Wonder I'm still alive ...

Mike, I was referring to both the music and the vocals style. Again, I enjoyed the video, and your playing is great. Check out my friends KnowLyfe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GNOkwPR ... re=related or The Black Dahlia Murder or Girl Scout Hand Grenade. You cannot throw a rock around here without hitting a band in this genre.
