I've never to my recollection offered any critique on your looping Paul.
That is about to change ...
When Jeanette and I met you in Nacogdoches we really enjoyed your show.
However, the was a bit of volume / sound quality discrepancy between your playing and recording the loop and the loop itself.
I mention this now because with this video I did not discern a change.
This was significant enough to spur my memory of that performance in Nac.
Something you might consider with your renewal of loop performance is to minimize the difference between your actual playing and the loop.
It makes your performance feel seamless.

Awesome! Great observation. The real factor in keeping the levels consistent is volume. I need a lot. Basically in order to play the drums well I need to play them like you would with a band. In a coffee shop setting like the one where you saw me I have to play as quietly on the drums as possible. They are still louder than the loop. In this situation I was able to play the drums naturally. I also did not have a room mic going on this one. I had a direct line out from the p.a. that is a big help. If I was on a big stage with a big p.a. then it would sound like this video. Once the room sound dictates that I play quieter than the drums need to be then there are those volume discrepancies you mentioned. Thanks George for the critique!

After about 1 min I was singin' this to your loop
Frankie Valli ยป Working My Way Back To You
Working my way back to you babe
With a burning love inside
Yeah I'm working my way back to you babe
With a happiness that died
I let it get away, paying every day
When you were so in love with me
I played around like I was free
Thought I could have my cake and eat it too
Oh how I cried over losing you
For every day I made you cry
I'm paying girl til the day that I die
I'll keep working my way back to you babe
With a burning love inside
I'm working my way back to you babe
With a happiness that died
I let it get away, payin every day
I used to love to make you cry
It made me feel like a man inside
But if I'd been a man in reality
You'd still be here babe lovin me
Now the nights are long and lonely
And I'm not too strong babe I just miss you so
And you're too proud, won't give in
But when I think about all I could win
I keep working my way back to you babe
With a burning love inside
I'm working my way back to you babe
With a happiness that died
I let it get away, payin every day
yeah yeah yeah
Working my way back to you babe
With a burning love inside
I'm working my way back to you babe
WIth a happiness that died oh how I'm cryin
Working my way back to you babe
With a burning love inside

I really can't hear it. I can't even think what reminded you of that song. Sorry.

Man, I'm really disappointed in a lack of response on this one. I'm proud of this track. Not disappointed in you guys. Just disappointed that it didn't make the mark I thought it would.

Must be a timing issue.
Not of the song but of the time of year.
Lot's of stuff going on with folk ... cause the certainly no flies on the tune.

I don't know how, but I completely missed this thread yesterday. I'm not on my computer with speakers at the moment, but I'll check it out later tonight. Sorry about that.

GREAT JOB Paul, it made me want to write some lyrics and start singing.
It got a little monotinous after a while but it was catchy.
I liked it.[/b]
