Our bass player Kraig has decided to retire from active playing. His job and his back are getting to be too much for him. We want to thank him for 10+ years of service and will miss him. Our engineer Pete has graciously accepted our offer to join the band for the next two shows, and possibly become a permanent member. The show must go on!

I'm sorry to hear your bassist is going to retire.
I pray for him it is the right thing to do.
Now the question is, does the " engineer " Pete, play bass ?

It is nice when you have the stability of playing with folks you can count on for that many years! I hope things work out for you Jimmy! Now you just have to find a new engineer (sound guy?) Sometimes that can be as hard as finding the right bass player!

Pete is not just a soundman, he's a recording engineer and owner of the studio we record at, Rock City Studios. Pete can definitely play bass; he played on all the Farley recordings except for our last one. Pete was in Mugsy, Weapons, Destroy All Monsters, Dark Carnival and did a CD with Cub Koda of Brownsville Station fame,

Deciding when to hang up your guitar is a very personal decision that is not easy to make. The thought has crossed my mind occasionally but I can't quit, I dig it too much!
Thanks for the well-wishes.

That's a huge thing to happen to a band. I wish you the very best in putting together a new approach; and to your retiring bass player: Er Ta!
(see john wayne movie Rio Grande and his salute to Apache scouts) I don't know what it means, exactly, but to me it screams 'RESPECT!'

Thanks Mike. One thing I can say is that even though a lot of folks have been Farleys over the years, none left with bad feelings and they all remain friends. Rasta and I have never even had an argument in 15 years!
