I posted some home recordings a few weeks back, and you were not that hip on the singer.
Well, we have since parted ways.

This is my bands new singer doing some of his solo project stuff:

Whatcha think?

Good Power.
Good Volume.
Good Texture.
Good writing ability.
Not tentative going for notes.
Would like to hear some more activity in his singing.
Needs to take some chances vocally.

My opinion: B+[/b]

Pretty decent... Holds his key well and seems to deliver phrasing with relative ease...

Oops! Just saw this!
1. Huge improvement over the last singer, HUGE. And that's a live performance vs studio too. So that's a double plus in his favor so far.
2. I only heard one slightly off key note at the first listen.
3. He has good phrasing.
4. He feels very natural.
5. Youngish and good looking, not important but it helps.
6. He has a little bit of a Aaron Lewis from staind thing going but it's not as stylized or corny. It's just a little bit cheesy. But you do have to have some kind of a style.
7. Now as for the song. It was too long. And I kept wanting a bridge. I;m guessing that was his song. So that speaks about his writing. And I kept wanting his melody to go up after a while.
8. I'd say grab a hold of that guy and write, record, and perform! He seems like he could be part of some great music. He's a solid 8.5/10 in my opinion.

Looking forward to what you produce with him. Best of luck!

I clicked on another random song of his. He is younger than I thought. His voice is even better on this one. I just clicked one random one. The chord progression REALLY rips off "collide" by Howie Day. I thought it was that song. It's in a different key but man it's a ripoff. He wrote a good song on it though. I really like his voice. I have high hopes for you!

His song...

That tune would be better done via electric guitar.

Good tune tho..

Thanks Paul!

He's a bit of a risk, being so young (20), but we're going with it.
We will run him through the ROCK ringer and see what comes out the other side. :)
