Our constitution addressed the issue of Religion from a Christian, not an world religions perspective.

The key is that no denomination was to become a 'state church' like the Anglicans in England and various others in Europe.

They would have laughed out loud if they heard us debating the nonsense about tolerance of Muslims, Scientologists, Wiccans, Hindus and so on - while attacking our own culture and the Christian religion. No other religion is routinely attacked by the over world, which is certainly something to consider.

Can you imagine Tom Jefferson authorizing creation of Wiccan 'chaplains?"

I don't care if people are involved what that stuff - but I want them to sit down and shut up while we celebrate the birth of Christ.

When I was growing up the Christians in my town worked the Jewish holidays and to the extent necessary, vice versa. The high school cafeteria served fish on Fridays for the Catholics. The 12 grade typing instructor was queer as a three dollar bill but nobody gave him any grief nor did he push that on others and demand his 'rights'. Somehow it all worked.

If we'd had Muslims we'd have figured something out for them too. But it would have been a two way street. No coddling.

Now that the govt has gotten involved in it, this doesn't work, it costs a lot of money, is used to justify govt intrusion in our lives, and it smacks of idolatry.

But so what. Merry Christmas boys. :)

Was that necessary LD? No one is on here saying fukk Christians, who seem to be the whiniest group ever lately. Happy Flying Spaghetti Monster and Invisible Man In The Sky Day to you too.

You're an idiot, we're at war with radical elements of the group, which is at best 5% of them. They hate us because of pricks like you.

Stupid is as stupid does, you obviosly don't have
any members of your family fighting for our freedom.
I don't know where you get your numbers, but it doesn't
matter, this has been going on for a long time, once
again wake up and look what's going on around you.
You spout your agnostic bs, but probably are celebrating
Christmas.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names
will never hurt me. Be gone with you before I taunt
you some more.

Oh look another happy happy holyday thread where Christ's soldiers bash an others army! I thought the Crusades were over?

FYI . . . the Nazarene's birthday is not, according to most scholars, in December

MERRY CHRISTMAS

When's satan's birthday Etu, or do you
guys just celebrate the day God thru him
out of Heaven.

And oh yeah how can you believe in satan,
and not God?

This has got to stop Mr. Haley, and I'm here
to stand up to any of them.

They outlawed prayer in our schools, now we have
muslims moving into our area and we have to
furnish them a prayer room at the public school.
We didn't outlaw prayer in school, we outlawed
Christian prayer in our school, and I'm getting fed
up with this bs.

Jesus is the reason for the season.

There's nothing wrong with celebrating Christmas as the birth of Jesus Christ, although we don't actually know the precise date of his birth. There's also nothing wrong with celebrating it for non-religious reasons, and for not celebrating it at all. Of course this means doing your celebrating OFF from government property, especially schools and city halls.

And FYI, I know a lot of Muslims and have never heard them express the hate you express LD. You can have your faith without denigrating other people's faith; it's called freedom and that's what our soldiers are fighting for you twit.
