Philbymon says Hi

HI guys, sorry this took me so long, things have been a bit weird so I haven't been online in 3 weeks or so.

Our friend Philbymon texted me on Thanksgiving day, so I called him back and we talked for a while. He asked me to tell everyone HI and Happy Thanksgiving, sorry it's a bit late.

He's doing a bit better, went to work for a Wal Mart about 50 miles away and is living in a double wide with a room mate for a while, trying ti get his life back together after a divorce. Struggling, but seems to be in a better frame of mind by far than the last time we talked several months ago, while the divorce was in progress. NO computer or cable TV yet, but he's gradually picking up the pieces and getting himself together again.

Anyway hi from Philby to everyone.....and a very late Happy Thanksgiving, which is my fault.

Man, divorce absolutely sucks the big one... I hope Mr Philby will successfully ride it out.. It will get better...

When I got divorced and finally found my own place, it took me 6 months before I stopped cringing at the sound of doors slamming, noises in the next room (via the wall of the neighbors) , etc. (That's how wired my Ex had me when we lived together under the same roof))

I have been through 2 divorce's and learned a LOT about myself in each one. Divorce is not only emotionally devastating but financally as well. You have to work through the gammet of emotions just as though you would a death of a loved one. Pete please tell Philby we all said Hi if you get the chance!

I don't know who said it but, sometimes it's true. Do you know why divorce is so expensive? Because it's worth it!

Phil says thanks to everyone, he was glad to hear that this got some nice replies. I read each one back to him over the phone.

GtZip email my user name at gmail, all lower case, and I can send you his phone, he said yeah that would be ok.

Thanks to you all for the kind words.

The ex asked me what I'm doing for Xmas. I told her that, like the song says, "I'll be home for Christmas." She asked me to join the family for dinner & such, but I think I'll be far. far better off just celebrating alone.

I am gonna snag the grandson for a cpl days this week, though, to celebrate a lil early holiday, just the 2 of us.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday. I'm scheduled to work starting at 10 Xmas night. WoeMart: "family-friendly," indeed!

I remember from Christmas past that some of the greatest memories were from things people that had the least did the most. My Uncle Henry got out of the National Gaurd on a section 8 during the Viet Nam "Conflict". He still had enough sense about him to have kept his drivers license. He took my two brothers and I downtown Columbus to see the window displays that they don't have the likes of today. It was impressive. We loved it better than an all you can eat chocolate bar. Eating a chocolate bar, it would be gone. The window magic will never leave us. A 1959 (Cat's Eyes), Impala, and an Honor to speak of my Uncle Henry, he was mine! Rest in peace Uncle Henry.
