I'm building a new guitar. It's new design incorporates a shape that will sit on your lap/chest (belly), without rolling away from use when you let go of it. it's primary design is really no different than conventional guitars, however this one can be played and plucked left and right handed as you go because you can let go. This evening I saw a man play guitar with his withered right arm so small he could wear a watch up to his armpit, yet, Dr. Scott Smith put himself through college to get his degree-s playing guitar. Listening to his music, you can't hear his Polio he contracted at age 18- one month before the vaccination was distributed in 1955. People like that never have badges or ribbons to show they've conquered a major foe with bravery and valor.It moves me as much as those decorated with a purple heart. As I am typing this I am listening to Jon Gomm, a solo- one man band. I wonder, if he were to lose complete use of either arm, would he be half a man, or half a band- by himself?

Crunchy, in My book, anybody who can present him/herself in front of a gallery of critics, is to be applauded...even if they flop on the first note...

That's the thing about entertainment...People know when you are trying t please them... and they wont crucify you (as badly) as if you did not care about what your were attempting to do...

Funny thing about entertainment and critique.

You can play a song and have one person doing backflips in the crowd yelling for an encore while everyone else stares at you as if you had three eyes.
The next song the encore guy will go get a hotdog while the previous starers dance in delight.

It's like that a lot for us because we usually play to mixed generation crowds.

It's even funnier when granny is the one whom is rocken her ass off.

I get that same thing, because I play so many different styles of music.
One can never predict who in the crowd will like which song.
And it's always really, really weird when they love the 'wrong' song.

What I failed to mention about Dr. Scott Smith is that because of the polio at 18, he was left with his dangling arm he rested on top of his dreadnought acoustic as he spoke. He would take his left to place his right arm over the strings, and he could barely move two fingers of his left hand. It is enough for him to play flawlessly, and he packs the house. I will look for a thread, but it is going to be a Christian channel file footage.

I started this thread taking about a guitar I'm building. I know, dangerousely close to spamming. First off, I want to clarify a couple of things...A guy like Crip would know what kinds of pick-ups to put in it. If a Bigsby wammy would be helpful. Most importantly, Im not wanting to "Sell" something, but help someone that has all the theories in his/her head continue where he/she may have had an impasse. I would be proud to finish my quest (this guitar) to help someone else finish theirs. Two reasons I can't say "Free" 1) it will be at cost 2) the minute you say "Free!" everyone wants it to sell it for gain.

An honorable crusade IMO.

This guitar body is nothing like you've seen before. PRS has beautiful guitars. Carvin has beautiful guitars. This wood grain is something they don't have. selected by happenstance because I saw a quality that would be a hard find.glad I didn't burn it in my fireplace. Glad I have5 more slabs, guitar thick.
