Poker is NOT a sport, people. It's a GAME. It doesn't take one ounce of physical ability to play poker. A quadriplegic could play poker. A fat, out of shape, beer-guzzling idiot could play poker. It DOES NOT belong on ESPN. They should create a new cable network. Call it TGN, the Game Network or the Gambling Network. I tune into ESPN to watch people competing in ATHLETIC competition. Okay?

I never watch ESPN Bob, but the only true sport is
running, when you become one with the world.

In my opinion, sports involve some form of perspiration. Theonly sweating a Poker player does is when most of his money is on the pile.

Question: Is fishing a sport?

. That's a very good question. Depends on what type of fishing you're tallking about. Sitting on your ass all day, drinking beer, and waiting for a 2 lb channel catfish to inhale your stinkbait isn't much of a sport. Being strapped to a chair deep sea fishing and fighting a billfsh for four hours is an ultimate sport of endurance. Wading a gin clear stream trying to entice a wary 10lb Brown Trout to strike a tiny dry fly is ultimate sport. I consider the type of fishing I do a sport. I fish lakes from shore, moving around a lot, using very light line (2-4) lb test, catching everything from 3 ounce bluegill to 30 lb carp on nothing but lures. I'm tired after a day of fishing. And often I catch all kinds of fish, many times near people who aren't catching much at all.

It all makes sense and answers my question well. There's slacker fishing, and alpha male fishing...in a nutshell.

Apparently, Dwarf -Tossing is considered a sport, but I'm glad that ESPN has the discretionary sense to not cover it...
