Havin the time of my life :)

Tuesday nights for me has turned into an awesome weekly night. I have a 2 hour band practice every Tuesday night - we don't do any shows, but practice covers as a type of "get out of the house and have fun playing music instead of bowling night!". So we've learned about 25 cover songs, everything from CCR, Foo Fighters, Everclear, Judas Priest to Little Feet :) Add some ramones and Billy Idol in the mix too and it's all great fun :)

About 2 months ago, we packed up for the night and one of the guys says "leet's do an open mic tonight". Turns out he knows the owner of a new dive bar in town, so get lined up first or second spot every night. Just an awesome evening putting practice into play and lovin every minute of it.

Turns out we managed to get a show scheduled for tonight at a nearby venue - just kind of fell in our laps. We're gonna try Holy Diver, haha. Just learned it last month and still have a lot of rough edges to pound out but may as well give it a try.

Thought I'd share (again) how Tuesday nights for me have really been getting better and better. Hopefully this train won't derail anytime soon :)

Cheers!

We generally play Wednesdays.
Sometimes Mondays too for the rhythm group.

I look forward to it all week.

jerry! you come and go like the wind! 8)
Glad you're still around - we gotta catch up on your latest projects!

had a great time tonight. probably 50 onlookers, all seated and facing forward. Never had that before... on retrospect, I should have had a few beers before stepping up to the mic, but it went good enough that I got a few compliments, which was, um, unexpected but welcome :D

I'll post pictures when I gettem ready.

Thanks everyone.

Pictures are up

a note about the pictures - my daughter took my wife's 2K Canon up front and took all these pictures. At one point, I was playing and saw a streak go by (lights were bright, hard to see what's happening in the audience). I looked down - she ran, dropped to her knees ans slid about 10 feet) and started taking pictures. She's a total ham. 12 yrs old.

Sir thats cool there is nothing quite like playing live in front of an audience to me. One gig is worth 100 practice sessions, you find out real quick if what you are doing connects with folks or not.

Keep On Rockin!

Cool Pictures too!

Make sure you get plenty of pictures everytime you play out, with digital cameras theres no reason not to take a couple of hundred pictures per gig.

Exactly! The pictures are great!

I love pictures; they capture the moment and you'll remember those shows forever. Keep it going!

It's great to see people on this forum playing out now :-)
