Too funny... they're not even wanted in their own country!!!

From Yahoo Sports
And just in case you think this is some sort of Detroit-centric thing, consider that two writers from the Winnipeg Free Press recently begged NHL commissioner Gary Bettman not to put Nickelback on the bill for the "NHL FaceOff" season-opening ceremonies.

As people who love music and love Winnipeg even more, we have a request: Please ensure this does not happen. The return of the NHL to Winnipeg is something we have been dreaming about for 15 years. Please do not sully the celebration with the presence of a band whose existence is antithetical to the very concept of celebration.

Shunned in their own country? You bet your ass. Why foist them instead on the hardworking American public?

Nickle Bags lyrics are as negative and demeaning as any drivel ever written.
Damn shame that.

He has the most annoying, trite, cartoonish, joke of a voice ever. He's in league with Scott Stapp.

JW, I never have liked or disliked a band because of success or lack of success. Meaning I don't loathe that band because they made it. I loathe them because they are a cliched joke.

I'm sure there is a backlash due to their success but there is also a backlash due to their cheese.

Paul and Jimmy its just personal taste, I dont guess Im a Nickleback flagwaver, but I have a couple of thier cds and enjoy thier music cliche or not. I like it and when I hear it I crank it up. Weve only played How You Remind Me and Rock Star a few times and its not even in our regular set

I guess its just agree to disagree!

Rock On Bros!

Yeah, but people buy it. Trouble is, people don't want to hear happy and cheery. I'd put it ths way, I haven't bought nickleback, but it is some of the best on today's radio. Add to that, they are not committing you to their convictions as Greenday American Idiot.

He does have a really strange sounding voice. Never saw them in concert but seems to me they just mix it weird (like some crazy overuse of a chorus/overdub/delay effect).

I like a few of their songs tho-- gotta admit that.

People want Nickleback just as much as they want a new Scott Baio show. :P
