Had a gig sat night, kinda wierd, we had college age kids mostly, and they wanted to hear Hip-Hop and Country! LOL, not a good combination for Aint Yo Mama.

They were cool, but you could tell we werent thier cup of tea, but we rocked them mofos anyway.

Had a great room to play in, I hooked up the pa from the last gig, with the settings we used there, only raised the vocals in the main slightly, weird cause the monitor mix was awesome, it was kinda like palying with headphones on, I could hear every little nuance of the music, which since the crowd wasnt that great, we just started plaeasing ourselves and going on these long improv sections, drives our singer crazy! LOL

But got our money, and had a really good practice for us, LOL!

Keep On Rockin

I thought this was a cool shot of our singer with me in the background, reminds me of all those old Cream or Circus pictures from the 70s.

Had a very similar gig also Saturday. Filled in on bass for a classic rock band. Halloween revellers, lots of drinking, smoke-filled private club, good bar food, got paid. Not a bad deal.

I got dragged to a wedding in the PA Poconos. What a friggin nightmare with 13 inches of snow getting dumped on the poor wedding party.
Freak October storm, and unusually cold Temps. Must be global warming. :)
Now I have 3 days of catchup work. Just bitchin.
WILDER, those were some really cool pics you posted, and I bet you guys even sounded better. :)

Bob, our was a private party, the guy that had it is a couple of years younger than me, and gave me this long list of old friends he had invited, most of them didnt come, but he has two college age sons n they and their friends came.

We have a cd player in our rig and between sets we ussually provide the music, so after the first set, I hear this other music going. So I turn our rig off sinces its there party. They would play half of almost every song they played, it was a mixture of hip grinding hip-hop rap, and then they would go hardcore country.

There was a mention the other day about clear sound, well when I would walk out front of our pa sat night it was clear as a bell, I didnt even eq the room, just turned it on and all our setting from our last gig just worked, just a little adjustment on the lead vocals, and we were off and running. In our area where the monitors are it sounded like we were on headphones, I mean the balance was just so even, could hear everything, I dont know if it was the room, the moon or just luck.

The only thing that got it out of whack was when I kicked in my nasty modern channel for a couple of songs, and our singer said it was a little too ice picky, LOL.

This was our 3-4 gig without a soundman and i have to tell you the stress level of things getting out of whack during a gig was way better than when we used him. And we have a pretty large PA, and mic everything except the bass.

Anyway just sharing a little about our weekend.

It was funny cause the minute we pulled up the guy handed me the money before we even unloaded the truck, we were laughing man liets just clear out of here. The audience wasnt really into us, sure we did some stuff that got em going at times, but not what we are used to.

But the flip side is we got good money to set up and play, just a great paid practice I guess.

Anyway Its Only Rock N Roll, we played that the other night and they actually got into it, so you cover guys check it out sometime, Im just waiting to spring Hush by DP on em for the next show.

Was the second time sitting in with these guys, very experienced pros. They perform 100+ miles south of me in the Nevada, Missouri/Pittsburgh,Kansas area. I believe they have performed south into Oklahoma as well. I don't have a problem sitting in with anybody. No rehearsal needed....
