Musicians dreams and goals ?

I know were all different.
Some want a steady house band gig for a local bar.
Some want fame and fortune as a top selling artist for a well established publisher.
Still others want sex drug and rock n roll on the road with a big draw act.

But for me my friends ... this letter kinda explains for me what I'm after as a musician.

Hi guys,
It was really great having you here for our festival. Even though it was hot and things may have seemed confusing, you guys were well received. We are very excited in the hope that you could return to us. The youth would like to have a concert for the other youth in the community greater. We can promise at least 50 to 100 kids if we can make this happen. If you are interested, please tell me when you are available and the details to put this together. Depending on if it's warm or not, we could have it here at the pavilion, (it can be closed in on two sides), or we can rent a hall. Please write back and let us know how you do such functions and we'll see if we can coordinate something. It'd be nice if we could have a Christmas party. We'll see what your schedule is.
Thanks again for being with us, we really enjoyed your music. Thanks for the pictures too.
Sincerely,

I really don't know what I want anymore, but I know I do still want to perform and I'd do this gig in a heartbeat. I'm happy just having people at my shows and digging what we're doing, regardless of how old they are.

Agreed, the only real criteria for musicians s/b "Can they play well/do they sound good?"

It's what your audience says about you that really counts. I want my audience to love and respect me because of my music and who I am as a person as you have achieved, George . I want to be able to to make a living as a musician. I want jazz/rock/blues etc to be my strength with strong skills in classical. I want to be a well rounded musical performer and educator...with a paycheck. THat's my dream and I am sticking to it.

I am brainstorming my first CD BTW.

Very cool Sans!
I raise my coffee cup and toast you this morning!
It's a great feeling to be able to do something for the love of it and have others wanting to go along for the ride!
Beautiful!
Me personally...
I'm just glad to have an outlet for some expression.

Thank you sir.
I'm with you on the outlet too.
Since I no longer participate in the Kung Fu training every day like I used to.
I need an outlet for all this psychotic energy.

Another reason our rather unusual band name is fitting to the situation.

Expression.

Making a living at it would be nice, but even not, it’s not like anything could make me want to stop trying at it. Friggin music swallows your soul, heart, time and wallet to disappoint 99% of the time. But damn it, that one percent is pretty cool. :)
