So right after band practice last night, one of the guys says "let's do an open mic". I said, what day? he said right now. ????

Turns out one of the guys in the band grew up with the owner of a dive bar in my area that has open mics on Tuesday nights, so he put us second on the list and we drove down, unpacked, had a beer then played :D I think we'll be doing open mics every Tuesday night after band practice now. Talk about spur of the moment fun!

This was at last night's open mic - Vince - singing center (the guy who pretty much heads up our band) did a few songs with the owner of the bar - other guitarist. Pretty kewl setup for a dive bar!

Cool Vid. Man! I use to play open mic here in NYC every monday night at Kenny Castaways.
Problem here is that there is not to much RnR here any more so I was stuck in the Singer Song Writer world.

So I stopped going.

But ya it can be fun

It was definitely a great experience for me. They had everything from metal, rock to some rappers on stage. It was a pretty mixed night. Fun fun fun!

Great video, you guys were good.
My band and I still occasionally go to open mics just to show off a little and sometimes to promote local show. Its fun.

Wow. Blast from the past. I vaguely remember several awful gigs at Kenny's in the eighties.

You can have a good experience or a bad experience but all experience is good.

Or something like that. :?
