Last night we went to see Night Ranger, Foreigner, Journey. what blew my mind is I didn't recognize any of the musicians in the band. They are a freakin cover band as far as I am concerned! They sounded just like the record. I know Lou Gramm had brain cancer. But where the heck is Mick Jones. Also whats up with the jerks that set down in front standing up thru the whole gig. My wife and I couldn't see crap. I went to ask the staff if they could make those folks set down and they said no. The thing I couldn't understand is why Night Ranger had to open for a COVERBAND!

I hate to here that Foreigner is just a cover band.

I seen Fotiegner warm up for the Doobie Brothers
in 1977, the Doobies were doing there greatest hits
album. Foriegner rocked that night like nobody I've
seen since, well maybe Foghat.

I remember that same thing w/ aerosmith in the 70s . they broke up & their manager put whole different band out on the road as aerosmith! are both of the guys still w nigthranger? brad gillis & jeff (watson ? ).

Brad Gillis was there Jeff Watson was not. Kelley Keagan was also there Alan Fritsjerald was not. Jack Blades was there! They did a Damn Yankee's song that Jack Blades sang when he was with them.

The problem is, bands are now corporate entities, like Kroger or Goodyear. It doesn't matter who works there currently, you will still get your groceries and tires. Only a small minority care if Johnny is still working in produce or whether Mick Jones is still in the band.

Several years ago Steppenwolf played
Springfield, Mo. It looked like all the local bikers
showed up and were good and drunk when
Steppenwolf came on, minus John Kay,
they tore the place up it was a fun concert
Now they don't sell beer in the Mosque anymore.

It seems that nobody gets what they pay for anymore... This has really become a problem in america the last 6 years... I mean the bait & switch is just awful...

Haley when they came to Memphis it was the same thing, I read that Mick Jones got sick after the tour started or was contracted, he basically owns the name, so they are on the road without him, I actually liked the guy playing guitar.

Haley did Journey sound like they were too watered down with effects all night to you? In Memphis the licks were played but it was kind of a muddy mess of a sound mix to me, Foreigner in memphis sounded the best of the three to me.

JW, they did sound like they had to many effects. They sure got more volume than the other bands. I was to far away to see but I know Neal Shcon operates his own effects it sounded to me like they were adding effects on top of his. When a sound man does that its just a muddy mess and it sounded that way.

Haley Schon had a huge pedal board and was moving from one end of it to the other all night long.

It was a shame to me that the sound was like it was, they did play thier asses off and I love Schon, but man he kinda slaughtered the Lights solo in Memphis, but its his song so he can do what he wants with it.

I loved that album he did with Hagar many moons ago. Thier take on a Whiter Shade of Pale was one of the best covers of that song that Ive ever heard.
