Voice Therapy

Voice therapy is when we remove hoarseness (acute edema) or polyps from the vocal chords through vocal exercises. When a singer becomes popular, they must take advantage of the moment and perform as much as possible. Including interviews, recording sessions, meetings and sound checks. Thousands of performers have found themselves in this position many times. A couple of tips; cardio exercise and steam rooms are great natural anti-inflammatories. :D

If placed in a song properly, hoarsness can transmit feeling.
It can indicate that you are into the song and feelin it. [/b]

You're absolutely right. But, when the acute edema becomes severe; one cannot sing anymore. This is my reference point. :D

I know a girl who used to have a great voice, but later on she had cancer on her clavical bone...The radio therapy scarred and nearly destroyed her vocal chords. I tried to help and coach her back, but I believe she was just too discouraged and conscientious about it.

that's a sad story
I hope she snaps out of it and tries to overcome, even if that means learning an instrument and making that her voice. I often think what it would be like not being able to express myself in some creative fashion - whether it's writing, singing, playing or even just capturing beauty on film. We all need some sort of creative release, and encouragement.
