Perhaps a sign that it's time to quit...

We performed at The Lion's Den Open. No problems as usual. But the band before us nearly had a catastrophe. I didn't see this happen but their drummer passed out while playing, fell into the mud (rained this morning). Later when he was loading his drums into his car he passed out again. Something to do with diabetes maybe. God might be telling him it's time to hang up the sticks.

We bout lost Steve-O at one of our gigs. ( perhaps you remember )
Steve went out during our first set ... turned out he was septic from a wound on his leg.
I hope the fellow you mentioned has himself seen too.
Oft times we just don't see to ourselves like we should.
Especially diabetics.
Non compliance with the diet and blood monitoring can be lethal.

There's been a few very famous performers who died during a show. I believe Freddie King was one of them, heart attack. Maybe Jackie Wilson? Sometimes God sends us a message to take care of ourselves or quit doing something.

If he is diabetic he could be having low blood sugar levels. That also is a sign that if he is not diabetic he soon will be. I always make a point of eating before a show. There has been a couple of times I thought I might pass out when I first found out I was diabetic. After a while you learn to manage it. As George already said he needs to get himself to the doctor.

I feel awful when my weight goes DOWN. I'm at 230, when it goes below 215 I'm miserable. About five years ago when I had irritable bowel I went down to 189 in three months. I wasn't digesting anything. I try and eat onions and drink some green tea every day. I get plenty of exercise. Also take digestive enzymes, garlic pills daily. I also take numerous tea pills (combination of many different dried tea leaves) weekly. Wonderfully calming, no prescription pills needed...

Same here...I am pre-diabetic and I am strict with my diet and keep my fasting blood glucose between 85 and 95.
But passing out is definitely a sign of something not right.

Was the drummer drunk? Another amusing name for a band, Drunk Drummer! Otherwise, not funny! Yogurt, then repeat!

Hopefully, he'll go to the doctor. It can be a number of things. You'd think he'd have the sense to stop and get to the ER to find out what's wrong with him, but then he's loading his drums in the car? No gig is worth killing yourself. Cisco knows a band where one of their members died right after doing a gig. People really should check their health, and look after it.

If it was the drummer I've played with the
last thirty years. I'd be asking who gave him
the pills, or the 100 proof Hot Damn?

Hey Fisherman Bob, I know this is kind of off topic, but I just checked out your profile and you are awesome!!
I have IBS as well and haven't found anything yet that works for long periods of time. I get dizzy a lot...so I hope that is not a sign of future diabetes.
