On Saturday the J7 Band played a Concert up in the Pines. The show was 5 hours and it was a smash! Many positive comments from listeners: "Best band we have heard in years!" Big Fun. This was especially fun because we are breaking in two new players and these guys really stepped up. They learned 60 songs in one month and played brilliantly. We wrapped up our last set at 1:30am and I got home at 3am.

The alarm went off at promptly 6:30am so I got up and met the worship team at my church for a 1 hr rehearsal and then 3 acoustic worship sets. Whew! My fingers are thrashed, hands are swollen, vocal cords strained and I could really use a nap. I feel like Keith Richards looks. :)
Very tired but it is a satisfying tired.

Sounds like quite a day or two. I think most of us have been there, I remember george talking about a 4am gig not long ago...

I did one similar years ago, I know exactly what it's like. July 4th. Opening act for another band at 10AM, fortunately we could use their setup, only had to bring one guitar amp. Break down, run to another 2PM gig with our PA rig, which we set up early that morning around 8AM, play till 6, tear down and load, set up yet again and played a 10PM gig at yet another place.

3 shows in one day, had to use our own PA for two of them, we all were zombies the next day, but had a great time doing it. And by the way all 3 shows went quite well, I don't think anybody missed a note all day, thanks to our excellent sound man it always sounded fantastic, so it was a good day even though it was a long hard one...

It's rough, but days like that are good, as long as it's only one now and then...glad you pulled it off.

It’s great to hear of success Johnny 7, it sounded like a bit of a marathon. Although fun while happening I’m sure you were glad when it was over to get some rest. :D

Thanks guys, it was fun. We have now booked three more shows from this one so it was worth the effort.

Sure thing RG, we share a lot of Classic Rock tunes with you guys. I am at work now so I will do it when I get home tonight. J7 pulls from a catalog of about 200 songs but this is a set we could ramp up quickly and do well. It also targeted our audience. First two sets are very pop, and the next three dig a little deeper into vinyl AOR.
