For all of you with some music for sale on the web (CD Baby, Reverbnation, Itunes, etc.) Are you actually SELLING anything? After going through all the trouble has it been WORTH it? Are you able to sell any CD's at gigs? Has any famous artist bought any of your tunes?

Not selling at gigs (I don't gig anymore) but I have 2274 views since Thu, 17 Mar 2011 on my BandVista site and about half of them downloaded one or more recordings, my recording "GodSnake" alone is closing in on 300 downloads.

This is fun, it's My Way, I answer to no one (if you don't like it, don't buy it), has led to other work, and is bringing in a few bucks.

Feel free to add to my bank account! LOL

To me it's first about personal satisfaction but also about generating a positive cashflow. Maybe I need to wear a suit made of baloney, dye my hair green and perform in a wheel chair....

Not selling anything but the bikers cleaned us out of CD's at our last gig.

I returned the money the offered us after the show for the benefit cause we were playing for.

F.Bob . . . have you looked at my website? It's geared towards a certain audience, and it is they that are purchasing downloads, everyone else just thinks I'm an insane devil worshiper (which I am of course LOL).

My titles are understood by those in the occult community and the music itself speaks to them (yeah I know how corny) . . . but my message is 'targeting an audience is key to sales'

The whole world is on the WWW the % that will spend .99 cents for a download is in our favor.
